The Ruger American pistol features a ported stainless steel slide with a black nitride finish, top slide serrations, and is drilled and tapped for direct mounting of red dot reflex optics. The slide also has fully adjustable, serrated rear target sight and fiber optic front sight for rapid target acquisition and accurate shooting. The stainless steel, competition barrel has a durable black nitride finish and 1:16" slow twist for enhanced accuracy with lighter weight match bullets. A rigid, one-piece, precision-machined, black nitride, stainless steel chassis comes with integral frame rails and fire control housing. The pre-tensioned striker system features a powerful striker spring for positive ignition without a heavier trigger pull. Its frame features a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail, modular wrap-around grip system, and competition-texture. The American includes two, nickel-Teflon plated steel magazines and small, medium and large grip modules.

Love it love it love it. Great pistol. Competition features make it a joy to shoot. Over 450 rounds of cheap range ammo and not a single issue. Dead accurate out of the box. The sights make getting a bead on your target super easy. The trigger does take a little getting used to but I very much like it now that I have spent some time firing it. The 3 interchangeable grips S/M/L are easy to swap out and make it very simple to find the right fit for your hand. All in all its a great pistol for a great price and as usual you can't beat Buds service.

Read great reviews about this gun. Waited about a year and a half to find one in stock anywhere. Finally found one. When I shot it the first time, I was very disappointed. The trigger was terrible. After about 250 rounds, there isn't any improvement. I expected better from a gun that is competition ready out of the box. I plan on not keeping this gun
