Fusion Firearms Freedom Riptide 45 ACP Pistol - Blue/Black, 4.25" Barrel, 8+1 Rounds, Wood Grips

Gun is beautiful. Front and rear checkering on grip. Line ground down top of slide. Very good fit and finish. More like a work of art, Bob Serva did very good with this one. I was lucky to get this for this price. Wanted the shorter barrel, this fits the bill. Watched a bunch of his videos on 1911's. Worth researching if you are looking and weighing eggs. Front sight is only gripe, but I plan on putting night sights on. I have an astigmatism so red dots don't work to well for me. This and a flash light is good. Plan on carrying when on ranch and hunting. Well worth owning.

When purchasing this firearm was excited initially as it was forged Slide and Frame but in retrospect I should have got the Springfield Armory Ronin as initially planned. The Fusion 1911 is Black oxide finish and didn't seem as it was applied correctly, after holstering the firearm to see how it fit my Galco VHS rig the slide was scratched to the surface metal wiping the oxide off above the dust cover. Don't mind having a scratched work gun but I only holstered it twice for fit! Lots of rust when I stripped it for cleaning, use a high quality cleaner/lubricant when you buy this gun. Soak it for a while and for those of us who like CLP, it won't cut it initially for first clean/lube on this, I had to use Tetra cleaner and oil. Safety is great, tactile in feel and positive detent. Sights are so/so but have standard Novak cut front and rear for easy replacement. I think for the price 1911's such as the TISAS and ROCK ISLAND give more value and quality. I haven't fired it yet as during my second holstering the front sight slid off, no biggie for me-I ordered some XS big sights and waiting on them. (was going to do that to any gun anyway). So in closing roll the dice on fusion, there are some good qualities to the gun, and some not so good. I intend to use it as a carry gun after it gets my upgrades and put several hundred rounds through it. Being a Navy Veteran who spent decades working on 1911's I see no issues with this being a fine weapon once it gets ironed out.
