I finally went out and fired this weapon today! I am so satisfied with this pistol. I fired over 50 rounds without one jam! Awesome Right out of the box this pistol not only met my requirements but exceeded them. At 15 yards 95% were in the center of the target. What i thought most of this 1911 is the handle geometry was awesome! I have large hands and the grip felt great adn after 50 rounds I was not fatigued. This is an awesome gun!

So far I love the pistol. I've always loved the full size 1911 with a 5" barrel, 45acp. This is the first 1911 commander lightweight and first with 9mm. I do like it. It's a great size, the Goldilocks of 1911. Not too big, not too small, just right :-) It's a good looking pistol as well. Nice sized thumb safety to double as a thumb rest (the way I like to grip the pistol). The "memory bump" on the grip safety is great! Resting my thumb on the thumb safety, I typically have to be conscious of my grip with pistols without the bump. If lazy with my grip I'd sometime not engage the grip safety. With the bump, it fills the gap and no issue disengaging it. The grips feel good. I've heard some complain of the lack of checkering on the front of the grip. I don't miss it. The trigger is nice, light, short reset. So far, not a single thing to complain about. A nice even 10 round magazine would make the pistol perfect. (The present limit in NJ)

A nice 1911, but finicky to ammo. Other than that its a great gun.

I am extremely pleased with my Springfield 9MM Ronin Operator purchased from Bud's. It is well balanced, very accurate and handles quite well. For me, I find the 9mm much easier to control as compared to 45acp or 10mm when firing multiple strings. The Ronin is relatively light weight and my gun's barrel length, 4.25", allows for all day concealed carry. Springfield provides only 1 magazine so I have have purchased a couple of extra mags direct from Springfield who offer a discount when you purchase the Ronin. My Ronin did not come equipped with night sites so I plan to purchase Springfield night sites if available or through aftermarket if necessary. I highly recommend the Springfield Ronin to anyone looking for a good 1911 style gun. BTW, my son who has carried a gun for a living for quite a number years currently carries a full size Springfield Operator so I think that speaks pretty highly of Springfield products.
