I am very pleased with the Glock 23 in .40. S&W. The slide is thicker and. more robust than my Gen 3 23. I've only put about 150 rounds through this one, but it was enough to see that I don't feel the shot from this Gen 5 23 as much as i do the shot from the Gen 3 23, and i liked the Gen 5 so much that i bought 2 of em, but that's just how I feel about Glock 23's. The only problem i have with the Gen 5's i bought is i have the ones that came with 10Rd mags. Gotta get the high capacity mags, other than that, my Gen 5's are flawless

Well, it is a Gen 5 Glock. Very easy to operate. Works as expected. This is my first .40 and I love it. Great compromise between 9mm and .45. Very comfortable in the hand. Some may complain about the capacity of 10rds. I think that it is fine. This is probably going to replace my M1911A1 as my open carry, which is just 7rds and a lot heavier. I need to spend more time with it before it is my daily carry, but so far, it is shaping up to be top-notch. The factory trigger could be a bit smoother, but once you get used to it, popping paper holes at 30-feet within a decent radius is fairly easy. I like the recoil of this part, which is very reasonable. Can't tell that is is more than a 9mm without (perhaps) a side-by-side comparison. Definitely not as much recoil as the G21, which is my favorite .45 ACP at this time. In case anyone is wondering, I have years and years of experience with the M1911A1 (Army), which is why it is my daily open carry.
