Horrible Chatter marks throughout the entire barrel. This is Savage 2nd top model of the impulse line, MSRP is $1400 and street price roughly $1000. I did get it for $850 pretax but still I am expecting decent finish, not mirror lap barrel or anything but my Remington 700 does not have this much tool marks inside the barrel (and they are known for their QC issues). my Bergara b14 also has button rifled barrel and the inside looks like custom barrel comparing to this railroad track? I tried Rem Core lok 150 and Fiocchi 150 gr terrible accuracy all over the place, around 4.6 MOA (I shot from a custom bench rest with elevation dial wheel), 2nd time from front and rear bag. I honestly don't want to try another brand even if it shoots marginally better just because the tool marks. This is bargain bin quality. I guess savage live up to their reputation. Both time the rifle shoot like shot gun spread. All my friends told me not to buy a savage and against their advice I took a leap of faith and got burned. Email Savage twice ticket #279911 and 279773. Have not heard back from them. I called their customer support around 11 am PTS time. No one pick up.
