Ruger has made nice micro 9 at reasonable price

The Ruger Max 9,is absolutely dependable, no failures of any kind after 200 rounds. It seems to be accurate enough for a self defence gun. I really like the fact that it has a built in bushing on the barrel, that keeps the barrel tight when it is in battery. The 12 round Mag adds enough to the grip to fit 3 fingers on it. The 10 round mag has a pinky extender floor plate that gives you a perch for your pinky finger. The appearance of the gun is well done. The only negative I can think of is the tolerance between the frame rails and the slide rails is a little excessive, but this does not effect the way it performs. Over all I really like the gun for the way it handles and shoots. It is now my every day carry gun. I purchased a carbon fiber inside the waist ban holster for it that conceals it very well and is very comfortable to wear. In my opinion you could not find a better carry gun Thank you to Bud's for the smooth transfer.

I replaced a single stack Ruger 9mm. It fits in the pocket very well & uses the same holster. Go bang every time the trigger is pulled.

Compact, no sharp edges and is easy to conceal. It has a comfortable grip, especially with the 12 round magazine inserted. Love the sight picture with the fiber optic insert. Great trigger pull for a compact 9mm with a clean break. 4" groups right out of the box. Mine is the "Pro" model. Dislikes - gaudy grip logos and warning labels on the frame distract from the looks of the gun. Slide release is small and somewhat difficult to use.

So this gun is awesome, when purchasing one the 3500 model has a manual safety. The 3503 doesn't. I'm glad I looked before I purchased it. I really don't like manual safeties. If you're a fan of the mini 9 mm's this is the way to go. Everything about this little Ruger is pretty bada**.

This has proved to be a great cc firearm. On the range it proved to be extremely accurate and totally reliable out of the box with the fiber optic sights. Although it is optics ready I haven't installed the red dot as it works perfectly at the level one needs from a self defense weapon. It may kick, but the recoil is perfectly manageable in both two hand firing and one hand firing from either a left or right position. At 78 with arthritis in my hands, I have not had any problem accurately employing and handling this weapon. Therefore I would really recommend it for Senior Citizens.
