  Yes, Taurus has issued a safety recall for some GX4 pistols that may discharge if dropped. While a new gun should be good to go I suggest checking the S/N with taurus to be 100% sure . To check if your specific GX4 is subject to this recall, you can enter your pistol’s serial number on the Taurus GX4 Safety Notice website. The serial number is located on the rear of the pistol. If your GX4 is not covered by this notice, you can disregard it. Safety is paramount, so please follow the instructions promptly to ensure your firearm’s safety

  I know this isn't an answer to your question but just be aware that Under certain circumstances, some GX4s manufactured in the United States can discharge when dropped. For that reason, owners should discontinue use until verifying it is not among those affected. Handguns not included in this notice can be safely used.

  James, trigger pull is an average 5lbs. This can vary from 4 to 6lbs. Most measurements are taken off brand new pistols. Once broken in you will be closer to 5lbs. Cheers and stay safe!
