Where this gun shines: Grip width, trigger, and upgraded takedown lever. Although this is a small, lower-capacity pistol, the APX A1 Carry grip width is wide enough to control the firearm while shooting. I cannot say that about some of the other micro-sized pistols (i.e. SIG P365) that have higher capacity, but more difficult to shoot. The trigger pull while long (as expected), was smooth and definitely improved from the first gen model that I owned. When fieldstripping and cleaning, the new takedown lever was definitely an improvement from the first gen. The stippling on the grip has been changed/upgraded from the first gen model as well. I found it to be aggressive, but tolerable for short range sessions.
I would most definitely recommend this pistol for anyone who is looking for a great backup EDC, backpack or pocket-gun.
Questions & Answers
Kirk, no manual thumb safety. It has a trigger safety, the trigger safety stops the trigger from traveling rearward through inertia in case the pistol is dropped. When the trigger is intentionally pulled, the trigger safety is instantly deactivated. Have a great day!See 2 more answers |
