Very pleasantly surprised. Inexpensive, but not "cheap" in terms of build quality. Also compatible with P 9mm loads, according to Hi Point. Took to the range and out-of-box accuracy was excellent using std peep sights that come with the carbine. It really does have a "reach" beyond a 9mm pistol. Shoulder strap is basic but entirely functional. Take-down and cleaning are not burdensome or complex. Well worth the price. I suppose that, among similar rifles, it might be called an "ugly duckling", compared to offerings from some other manufacturers, but it has excellent characteristics where it matters the most. This is my first purchase from Bud's and I would have to agree with all the others who rate their service so highly. Their customer communications never leaves you in doubt as to purchase status.

Carbine itself is good, no issues. Couple of FTF but I’m more than sure it was a used magazine I picked up. Good value, quick delivery, thank you buds!

I think the strap is way too short. I think the strap swivels are on the wrong side of the gun. I changed mine. In order to co-wittness irons with my dot optics, I had to alter the front of the rear irons and do surgery on my optic too. The bolts that hold the front sight and many which hold the stock together need to be dripped w wax or something. I can't get oil to stop them from rusting.

I love the little guy, I do not know about other highpoint's but mine at least runs smoothly if you want to have some fun with for example shooting can's, this is one that you can choose, it's affordable and can't really complain about the reliability of it for that price, the only thing that does bother me is the buttstock and using weirdly will slap you in the face but it's a nice little gun

In a world where you get what you pay for; you really do. However, it is well worth the money. I swapped the stock iron sights for pop-up sights and added a barrel cover. It looks much better.
