HI John, yes sir, much to the dismay of Dictator Murphy, the Shockwave is NJ legal. The one you linked to has a 18.5" barrel, so that one is classified as a shotgun and is legal in all states. I bought this awhile ago put I noticed it's a 18.5 barrel thinking it had the smaller barrel would I be able to put a stock on this and still be legal.

Altha, the 590S with 18.5 inch barrel is considered a shotgun, unlike the versions with 14" barrel, which are a completely different category of 'firearm'. The 'S' models will accept 1 3/4" mini shells without the use of an adapter. Since this has a 18.5" barrel, it also has a longer tube magazine and will hold more shells than the standard Shockwave with 14" barrel. Other than those things, they are all basically the same. absolutely love this gun! I accidentally purchased the base model that requires a mod add-on to it to fire shorts. Frusterated me, because I didn’t catch that in the description. So I ended up purchasing The “S” model so that I had the RIGHT ONE!

Shot one of these several weeks ago at a gun show. Will be adding a Crimson Trace laser. Bud’s is awesome, prices can’t be beat. I also wanted to use multiple gift cards for payment which was no problem. Bud’s has quickly become my online go to for firearms, ammo and accessories.
