The IWI US CARMEL rifle is a semiautomatic, short stroke, gas piston rifle. Made from superior steel, aviation grade aluminum and high strength impact modified polymer for outstanding performance in all environmental conditions. The rifle has a locking, rotating bolt system ensuring maximum safety for the user. IWI US CARMEL is fully ambidextrous and can be easily customized with MLOK rails at the 3, 6 and 9 position to allow compatibility with various accessories.

  • Cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined, free-floating barrel, for enhanced accuracy & prolonged life cycle

  • MLOK accessory rails at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions

I can't believe how much the price came down on the Carmel I had to get it. This is my third IWI purchase and just like my last two the Carmel is solid. It may be my next favorite battle rifle. Was shipped promptly. Buds is the absolute best!

IWI has a reputation for exceptional firearms that are a bit unique, such as the flagship Tavor. The Carmel is a fairly recent product (at the time of this review), and it lives up to that reputation with ease. The rifle features a polymer lower and stock, which is foldable, and adjustable for length and cheek height. There are two QD sling mounts, left and right, where the stock folds. My only complaint about this rifle is the lack of QD mounts on the buttstock. Instead, there are left and right side wire loops. Safety, mag release, and bolt catch are all ambidextrous. The charging handle can be swapped left or right side. And a final feature worth mentioning, it has an adjustable gas system for suppressors. Note that the Bud's image is not correct. Match the Bud's listed manufacturer part number on the IWI website for correct photos. The proper version has a metal handguard with several MLOK spots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. It is not a small or light rifle, but it feels good and is a joy to shoot.
