Since its introduction in 1993, the Ruger Vaquero® has dominated the cowboy action shooting world and earned its reputation for rugged reliability due to its strength and mechanical superiority. It is often referred to as "the gun that won the New West" because of its widespread popularity among single-action shooters and cowboy action competitors.

The Ruger Vaquero combines the original Old West single-action look and feel with new features. The mid-size steel frame and cylinder are scaled-down to the same size as the original 1955 Ruger Blackhawk®, closely resembling the classic single-action revolvers of the late 1800's.

This one completed my sets of new vaqueros. Two sets of blued .45 s and two sets of stainless new vaqueros. I put ivory and pearl from hogue on all of the sets. Those grips fit beautiful and excellent quality. I believe I got the ones I wanted most. Another sheriffs model,maybe later.

The Vaquero .45 Long Colt, the handgun that made every man equal in the old west. A beautiful handgun that feels natural in my hand. Accurate and powerful. You don’t need a pistol that holds 15 rounds as your home defense weapon. Just practice with the handgun you have and know where your bullets go when you fire. Then you will be ready for any scenario. For me, one round of .45 LC is all I need (per bad guy, lol). Buds delivers once again.

Very nice solidly built single action revolver, should last a lifetime. The only issue I had was timing was off a little but that is not usual for Ruger Vaqueros.
