Winchester Wildcat SR .22 LR OD Green Stock - Blue/Black, 16.5" Barrel, 10+1 Rounds, Synthetic, OD Green Stock

I have been wanting a .22 for a long time. I inherited my late father's single shot and that just fueled my desire to purchase a semi-automatic. I had a 10/22 growing up but I really just wanted an inexpensive plinker. I had three in my wishlist and heavily reviewed them all before finally pulling the trigger on the Wildcat, and opted to spend a little more on the suppressor ready model. The Winchester magazines seem to be in limited supply but another selling point was the fact that it will accept the 10/22 magazines. Buds did a phenomenal job as always and I received it a few days later. I fired it straight from the box with two different brands of ammo, one being the stuff that I had from the 80's. It functioned flawlessly and with the factory set rear peep, it was hitting 6" plates at 50 yards. It field strips and easily for cleaning. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

I was looking for a semi-auto rifle in 22LR in the $250 or less range. I jogged around looking at the Ruger's and other MSR configurations and came across the Wildcat. The easy trigger/firing group takedown was a draw as was the weight being low. That it could use the same mags as Ruger was a plus. Received it with no issues. I tossed a cheap red dot I had laying around on top and took it to the range. I fired 250 rounds thru it, Winchester HV-CPHP's 40 grain ammo, not one misfire or jam. Cycled perfectly. Took 5 minutes to get it sighted in and progressed out to 50 yards (with a bag). From a bag rest it was shooting 1-2" groups which was what I expected. I had forgotten how much fun it was/is to plink with a 22. The rifle was fun to shoot, light weight, accurate as you want to make it and was real easy to clean. It was a good purchase for me and for its intended use as a range plinker and kit/tag along rifle for small game.
