Ruger SFAR 7.62/.308 Win. 20" Black Rifle, 20+1 - Blue/Black, 20" Barrel, 20+1 Rounds, Black Stock

I have been looking for a good, light, well made 308 Ar for a while. I did a lot of research before deciding on the SFAR. It is light, well balanced, and is a a blast to shoot. Buds is definitely the place to go for great firearms at great prices.

What I expect from Ruger, fantastic fit and finish. the lower and upper has no play what so ever, first AR type rifle that I have had that has had zero play. I've built some with the nice lowers that have the screw to help fix that but it never gets rid of it completely. Ruger does it again, just like they always do, make a gun that is one third of the price compared to it's only rival.

I was looking for a AR style rifle other than my 556 and AK 762 after seeing this rifle in my NRA magazine with the reviews and the positive comments and new features Ruger incorporated in the SFAR and the.308 rounds I’ve stocked up on I decided to get the 20” SFAR and Buds had it with a fair price and fast shipping. For now I put a Sig Sauer Tango 3-18x44 on top and headed to the range after bore sighting the rifle, I grabbed a handful of Silver Bear.308 WIN ammo also bought extra mags and found that this rifle will not stomach the ammo jams every time, grab a box of Winchester power point and made a adjustment to the gas block and the rifle preformed as it is supposed to no jams and hit the target right where the cross hairs where placed each and every time. Did a rapid fire test and it preformed as it should, to me the recoil was mild a pleasure to shoot as much as you would want to shoot it or as much ammunition you want to use on paper the rifle was dialed in at 100 yards with just a couple of rounds and it hit with constant grouping and it hit at the 100 yards center every time. The weight is to me reasonably good I’m used to hunting with heavy guns .450 Marlin and 338 Lapua Rem 300 Ultra Mag ext ….. I would take it in my climbing stand without hesitation or on the ground with Bi pod legs or a shooting stick would be great, it carries a pretty good punch for deer/pigs being a .308 and a couple 100 yards would not be a problem with this rifle so for me it’s a well rounded rifle it will be up to just about anything I want to try to hunt. I was going to put a thermal scope on it and do some night work with it but starting to think I’ll take it this year in deer hunting or both with a quick attach Day/Night use. I believe you’re going to like the rifle and just might become a favorite for you and I’m a fan of Buds now good folks and man they have a lot of everything I did a search and found them and I’m glad I did you just can’t go wrong with both.

Been waiting for this one for awhile. I am a big fan of the rifles that Ruger builds and own several now across multiple calibers and platforms. I've had an itch to add another AR in 308 for awhile, and this one fit the bill perfectly. I purchased the 20" barrel because of the full length gas system and the flexibility to have 2-4 inches cut off the barrel at a later date if I so desired. The rifle itself weights 7.3 pounds (the 16" is 6.8 pounds), and, fully loaded with back up sights, a 3x12 scope, and sling, this rifle still checks in at just under 10 pounds. That is phenomenal for an AR chambered in .308 with a 20" barrel. I felt like this was the ideal "no compromise" package that had everything I was looking for, and it pairs very nicely with my 18" Ruger MPR in 5.56. Another great Ruger rifle, and another spot on delivery from Buds!

The Ruger SFAR 20” 7.62 /308 is a very solid rifle .It’s little heavier than I expected ,But it is 7.62 with heavy barrel..Ruger has hit it out of the park with the small frame and large caliber.It fits nicely,But I am 6’4 , I would like to try the 16”and compare them at longer range. I am happy with all the Ruger’s I have from 22 to the 300PRC..Great company and service.

Hey all, This is a great rife. You think your shooting a AR-15 but packs a bit more of a punch. I have sent hundreds of runs right out of the box and have had ZERO issues. Great gun for the money good luck.
