I took this one a little bit personally. I have owned a Glock 20 Gen 4 for years, and it has performed flawlessly (even the often maligned finger grooves line up perfectly for me on the Gen 4), but when the Gen 5 9mm's were released, all I could imaged was a Gen 5 Glock 20. Needless to say I was a bit forlorn and momentarily hesitant about purchasing the Glock 20 Gen 5 after I saw all the negative reviews online. Eventually, I decided to trust my own experiences with the Gen 4 and my overall level of satisfaction with Glocks in general, and I purchased the the Glock 20 Gen 5 from Buds. I cleaned it (because I always clean and inspect any new firearm before I fire it), and then did the only logical thing a person should do...I tested it out myself. I used a variety of ammunition...Sig Sauer 180 grain FMJs and HPs, Hornady 155 and 180 grain HPs, and several different offerings from Underwood including 135 grain screamers (1600 FPS, accurate, and surprisingly easy to shoot for 768 FPE), 140 grain extreme penetrators, 200 grain HPs, and 220 grain black cherry coated hard cast. ZERO MALFUNCTIONS! Underwood loads it hot, and the Glock 20 Gen 5 chewed through everything between 135 and 220 grains without a single issue of any kind. I am not sure what some of the online "gun gurus" were doing to get this Glock to choke, but I fired it fast and often across a pretty solid spectrum of ammunition and it didn't blink. When you add the Gen 5 upgrades and lack of finger grooves plus the MOS feature, it makes me glad I "rolled the dice" and trusted my own experiences and Glock's track record instead of the naysayers.

I now have all 3 of Glock's 10mm models, this one is the new best of the best. The first thing I did out of the box was put a 30-round mixed mag through it, containing everything from 60gr Liberty to 220gr Buffalo Bore and everything in between, it ate everything up flawlessly as expected, and was surprisingly accurate rapid-firing such hot loads, and comfortable in the hand at the same time. If I had to choose one handgun to keep, it's this one. Wish I had another one. There are many new appealing 10mm's coming into the market, but Glock has a more extensive track record with the caliber in their platform (in my opinion). Got it shipped quick from Bud's also, at the best price I had seen, especially considering they were out of stock everywhere else.

I can honestly say I wasn't a glock fan. I didn't care for the overall aesthetics until I was able to shoot a Gen 5 at the range. I said, if they adopt these features on the large framed glocks? I'd buy one. (I have large hands). Well Glock did it and I bought a Glock 20. Loving it so far. Adding the short beavertail grip helped correct the upward tilt of the standard glock grip angle. Recoil is tame for the caliber and its just a quality piece. The lack of finger grooves really makes the gen 5 glock much more comfortable. My transaction with Buds took 2 weeks to process the cash discount pricing. But they kept me informed of the process and ended up a happy customer. My pistol arrived flawless.

I have the Gen 3 and 4 versions of this already, and while I like those- this Gen 5 is more refined and just a better overall pistol. Glad they finally came out with it. I've been waiting
