CZ 75 Shadow 2 Compact 9mm 4" Optic Ready 15+1
With a higher beavertai and undercut trigger guard, the Shadow 2 Compact shooters hand is able to be as close to the bore axis as possible. Featuring a contoured slide; increased weight at the dust cover/rail; swappable mag release has an adjustable, extended button with three settings to allow shooters to set it in the spot most comfortable for them; trigger components give smooth DA and crisp, clean SA while drastically reducing trigger reset; a nitride finish coats the entire pistol, leaving it nearly impervious to corrosion; thin aluminum grips have healthy checkering to match the fine front and backstrap checkering of the pistol itself; target sights, fiber optic front and serrated, black HAJO rear (click adjustable for elevation, drift adjustable for windage).

This pistol is a great carry piece. For those of us that hate plastic pistols, you would love this on. Great size and feel. The trigger is excellent and sometimes takes a little getting use too. Extremely accurate out of the box. This pistol may be slightly pricy but very worth saving up for. Since i carry, the only thing i would wish for would be that it could come with a decocker. It does give somewhat of this ability by allowing you to lower the hammer to a half cocked position. This procedure is a little dicey to do with a live round in the chamber. I would tell you that the recoil is very manageable since it weighs more than the plastic guns out there. It is a very tight handgun and when you pick it up you know that you have a quality pistol with great engineering. It will gobble up any ammo that you feed it.

In the 1980’s Jeff Cooper stated that the CZ75 was the best service 9MM pistol and for some very good reasons. The ergonomics of the pistol were superior and it performed exceptionally. Fast forward to today and CZ has branded itself as a substantial firearms manufacturer worthy of serious consideration. This makes my fourth CZ purchase and every one of those guns have served me with outstanding performance. This particular CZ is well refined as the price of the gun is not cheap and is double the price of the standard CZ 75. The guns refinement proves itself at the range. The accuracy of the gun is stellar. I ran several strings of fire from 3 yards out to 25 with very tight groups shooting combat style no supports of any kind. One of my requirements for any of my carry guns is that it must be capable of consistent hits on a 6 inch plate at 50 yards. This gun had no issues fulfilling that requirement. So the conclusion is that if you do your job correctly this gun will do its job. Shooting this gun is extremely mild with a recoil pulse that is minimal at best. Because it is all metal and has a steel guide rod that extra material makes shooting much easier especially on rapid fire follow up shots. I also like that it is hammer fired rather than striker. I have nothing against striker fired guns but when I carry appendix style I prefer a hammer fired format for obvious reasons. You can carry this gun cocked and locked like a 1911 or with the hammer in the half cock position which reduces the trigger pull on the first shot. I prefer the latter position which is better suited for defensive purposes because the manuel safety is not that easy to operate because of its low profile especially if you were under stress at the time. This gun also inspires a great deal of confidence. After serving decades in Special Operations it is absolutely paramount that the weapons system you go to battle with you must have the upmost confidence in that system. If you are carrying a firearm that does not give you that confidence DO NOT CARRY IT. So the bottom line, if you want an all metal hammer fired gun that has refinements that has more than proven itself with many agencies and Military service then this gun is an excellent choice. Yes you will pay a little more but consider this. This CZ would absolutely go toe to toe with all those very expensive 2011’s out there without reservation. So if you take that price point into consideration this gun is a bargain. Enough said “Fortis Fortuna Juvat”

I absolutely LOVE this gun! You can totally see/feel the quality the second you see and hold it in your hand! It is definitely several grades above the other handguns that I have, and I'm very happy with my purchase. I purchased this one and the larger blue handled non compact, and they are my favorite two handguns in my collection!
