Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard 2.0 .380 ACP Thumb Safety - 12+1 Rounds | Black

This thing is tiny. It shoots great and has a very crisp trigger. Love the stack and a half magazines. A little more snappy than I thought it would be and a little awkward if you have larger hands but very manageable.

Love that I can get a full grip on a pistol this small. Still great for pocket carry and ready for summer. The challenges with the pistol, getting the 12th round in the 12 round mag requires a mag loader, hoping it loosens up with use. The 10 round mag is fine to load to 10 rounds. The trigger takes some getting used to, I put about 200 rounds through the pistol during my first trip to the range. Looking for reliability as well as break in. No failures of any kind with three types of ammo. I'd recommend the weapon.

Excellent quality as I expected from S&W. Slide operation was very difficult but has improved significantly with use. Very nice CCW!

Got this a couple of weeks ago and have put about 250 rounds through it using 3 different brands of ammo and 3 different types--FMJ RN, FN, and JHP. Let me start with the gun review then I'll review how it performs with each round. First, I want to thank Buds; I've bought quite a few guns from Buds, and they are always fantastic! I only own Smith & Wesson handguns (16 of them), so you could say that I am somewhat experienced with how they are supposed to handle and feel; I must say this gun is FANTASTIC! I have the 1st gen Bodyguard, but no use comparing the two because they are hugely different. That said, I have had zero handling issues, it's as accurate as my 9mm Sheild plus, and light as a feather. After field stripping, I saw no unusual wear patterns. Some complain about the safety being stiff...I will say that all S&W small thumb safeties are stiff (as opposed to lever-action safeties, like in the full-size M&Ps), but that's why you train and practice. I found this safety to be no stiffer than my Sheilds, and I can still have it off on the draw from my holster before I get my arm to 90 degrees. Regarding ammo. 380's are notoriously finicky with ammo, but this gun shot and cycled all 3 brands and types with zero issues...HOWEVER, while the FMJs were extremely accurate at 9 paces, the JHP was way off--this is typical for a JHP in any caliber but even more so in guns with short barrels. Furthermore, there was zero expansion (and I was using top-line JHPs). This is typical for short barrel guns such as my 38 snub revolvers. Lastly, even though the JHPs cycled perfectly fine (I shot 50 rounds of them), the first bullet struggled to align with the chamber--probably an issue with the expansion grooves. I personally will use flat point FMJs for this 380 just like I use wadcutters in my snubby 38 specials (i.e., with small-barreled guns, JHPs are simply not the best defense round). In short, there is zero reason for someone (man or woman) not to buy this gun for personal defense. It's very light, very concealable, very dependable, and very, very accurate--and all at under 10ozs...great things do sometimes come in small packages! Great job Smith & Wesson!

S&W hit gold with this firearm. Have been using this as my daily carry since purchasing. Tiny, extremely pocketable, yet seems to fill your hand up perfectly. Safety is a little stiff, but assuming it will break in with time. Shipping was fast as always, thanks Buds!

I have always liked Smith & Wesson and own several. I own the original Bodyguard and it has been 100% reliable. The Bodyguard 2.0 is a great shooter, the mag's are very hard to load. Buds has great prices, and very easy to work with. From the day of the order till my FFL called me to pick up the gun it was 5 days, Great service and great gun. A+

This is a great gun. Bought this to replace my every day carry, previously a Taurus PT740 slim. A great gun btw. The bodyguard 2.0 is special. The design is one of a kind. I dont know of any compact gun that fits a pinky on the handle let alone a micro compact. You will see other companies trying to mimic this forever.. It has a durable build, a little stiff at first, the thumb safety specifically, but after some range time has worn in nicely. Safety is still a little stiff. Hows it shoot? well, the barrel is really short, so dont expect any gun with a short barrel to be super accurate. This one is the same. You'll be able to hit a target, but not always exactly where you want to. the sights need adjustment out of the box, but i'll get it where I want. It jammed on time on the second bullet ever fired out of it, but has not been an issue since then. I suspect this was a freak accident, it fires very well. Your entire hand will fit on the handle if you use the extended mag.. its really unbeleavable . Great gun, theres a reason you hear so much good about it. S+W prices this thing at $400?? unreal. worth more imo,
