I had a couple of these in the past and foolishly sold them one time or another. This is a great pistol in all calibers, but 38 super is a special round. It is accurate and just a pleasure to shoot. This pistol is not only very accurate, but has one of the best triggers. I have not measured the pull weight but there is not an ounce of noticable creep, the trigger adds to the accuracy. Great finish, nice heft and in my opinion, just a great pistol.

Leaving an honest review, this Kimber is a very solid, well built gun. I am impressed with how good of a shooter it is. So far 500 rounds of various brands, no malfunctions, recoil is much less than any 9mm full size that I own. I have owned many colts and they all have had multiple malfunctions out of the box. I like this gun and it’s my first kimber.

As always, dealing with Bud's is a real treat. Excellent customer service and quick shipping. This pistol is my unicorn. I love 1911s and .38 Super. I do not care to spend three grand on a pimped-out Colt or two grand on a double stack race gun. I had a couple of failure to come to full battery issues on the first two mags of FMJ I ran through the pistol but light pressure on the rear of the slide fixed that each time. I had no problem when I switched to Sig Sauer hollow points and no problem when I went back to ball ammo. Other than that little hiccup, this is a fantastic pistol and if Bud's gets them back in stock, I'll probably buy another one.

I own two of these, love them both; my favorite carry gun. I want the fastest deployment possible, so the "cock & Lock" really speeds up a step to having to use the firearm safely. Did I mention that this Kimber Custom has a target barrel and you can sure tell. I've shot coyotes at 30-40yds out with no problem. I can shoot a 1" group at 15 yds. and a 2ish group at 25 yds. Like I said, accurate. And it is good looking; when people see this gun, they always ohhh and ahhhh over how 'pretty it is' I would recommend to anyone.

I've looked a long time for a steel (not aluminum) commander (almost) length 1911 in super38. They are not easy to find short of a custom build. The older Colts headspace not on the case mouth and the accuracy can suffer. Did not want to go down that road -- the building of a full-hopuse custom. So the Kimber Pro HD in super38! Its a Kimber and gets opinions from all, make your own judgements. For me the MIM parts aren't much of an issue, run till broken and then replace as needed. The pistol looks great, fitment is production pistol good and reliability has been perfect so far. One surprise is the fully ramped barrel. I wasn't expecting it and am sooo happy it is ramped barrel. No concerns running full power ammo now. So the barrel makes it an especially good deal, for me. I wish it had a checkered front strap, but it will soon enough. I drilled and dotted the front sight and everything else is fine, for now. Its a great place to start. Again Buds comes thru with an impossible to get item at a fair price and with more than honorable service. I couldn't ask for more.
