• Q: this gun is model #180022 and the other one exactly the same is model #11704. can someone explain the difference please and which one is better. thanks

  Robert, model 11074 is the MA compliant model and MA requires a 10lb trigger pull to be legal in MA. The 180022 has a 5.5lb to 6lb trigger pull weight. Everything else other than the trigger pull weight is the same.

• Q: Does the 45 come with white dot sights? Can you add new sites to the firearm? I had heard that you cannot change the sites on the 45 model.

  Mike - I own and carry daily the Shield 45acp. It comes with white dot sights. I personally changed the sights on mine to a set of tritium night sights. Exactly like changing the sights on any Shield ... nothing difficult about it. Sights are available pretty much anywhere that sell sights - I always use Dawsonprecision.com.

• Q: I was wondering if it is ok and safe to carry this weapon as my EDC with the external manual safety NOT ENGAGED? I have been carrying it with the thumb safety engaged for now but have heard that this pistol is exactly the same internally as the version that comes without the manual safety. So can I simply carry this pistol without using the thumb safety? I know there is a firing pin block on this pistol. Please elaborate. Thank you.
  P.S. I'm asking because my primary CCW was a 1911.
