I tried this reduced recoil (blue hull) Hornady buckshot, but it did not have sufficient “oomff” to cycle my Benelli M2, so I switched to the red hull Light Magnum. I’m sure the blue hull buckshot would work just fine in a pump shotgun, but semi-autos — especially inertia-driven guns like the M2 — can sometimes be picky. The Hornady Light Magnum (1300 fps) works just fine in the M2, as do some other brands of reduced recoil buckshot (Federal Flite Control, for example).

Hornady..., the largest independent produce of ammo in the world and they're all made here in America. Wanted something for my home defense 12 ga and didn't hesitate when I saw this at that price. Recoil isn’t extremely reduced but slightly noticeable vs the federal flight control. At 10 and 15 yards it’s only slightly larger than federal’s tight pattern which is exactly what I was looking for out of my Mossberg Maverick 88. Biggest difference: this is quite literally half the price than buying federal in store and both are premium ammo. PS: Bud’s shipping and communication was awesome as always
