whats the difference 12ga & 20GA SHOT GUN

Michael, the 12 gauge has a bigger bored barrel and uses the larger 12 gauge shotgun shells. The 20 gauge barrel has a smaller bore and uses the smaller 20 gauge shells. They both have 14.375" barrels, while the 12 gauge is a bit heavier at 5.25 lbs compared to 4.95 lbs for the 20 gauge. Both have a capacity of 5 in the magazine tube +1 in the chamber, and both will shoot either 3' or 2 3/4" shells. Have a great day!

I have two 12 guages and two 20 guages. The 20 guage is my home defense shotgun. It's handier and has plenty of power. Most home defense encounters are very close range. If I need to chase them out of the house and long distances, I'll grab my AR-15,

If you need to ask you probably shouldn't even consider buying a shotgun, especially a Shockwave style shotgun.

Different ammo. 12 gauge has a larger bore, uses more powder, has more pellets, and is overall more powerful. It will also have more recoil but lighter loads can be used to mitigate this. For a defense gun, 12gauge would be my choice.

Yes, crimson trace has a laser saddle available on Amazon. Just Google shockwave laser and it's the first one to pop up. Hope this helps.

Does this have a Picatinny rail on top? Or is it drilled and tapped? Like if I wanted to mount a flashlight?

Mossberg 590 Shockwave is a blast to shoot. Great gun for the truck, tractor or just to have fun with. Great add to my collection. Ordered online from Buds and everything went flawless. If you are wanting a great little shotgun that is a barrel of fun to shoot then you should try this one.

This little shotgun has been the best .. it's like my little buddy! Goes where I go and is easy to handle .. cleans really easy Shoots like a real partner I would recommend her for anyone who needs a multi- purpose shotgun or one thsts east to carry yet vinous ... I have developed a confidence in this gum I've not known in any previous shotgun & I'm in my late 60's and started out with a single shot when I was 8 yrs old and eventually graduated to a pump then semi- auto over the years
