for the money this is a great little pistol. i have had it for a while and have put maybe 200 rounds through it. it shoots true and have not had a single issue. i usually carry it as a backup. it is very small and is a great ankle carry.

I think Tarus accomplished what they were trying to do with this gun. The size and smooth design make it perfect for slipping into a pocket and it reliably went bang every time I pulled the trigger. I just couldn\'t shoot it comfortably with my meaty hands. It isn\'t a bad gun, just not a good fit for me. I gave it to my sister.

Got stainless slide/black polymer frame Spectrum from Bud's 2 weeks ago. Got it on the range and shot solid copper hollow points and ball ammo, about 100 rounds. Everything fed smoothly, gun operated flawlessly. Trigger breaks crisply, gun feels like it's part of your hand. I got one mag of 6 to group in a 2" circle at 7 yards, which for me is really good shooting. Gun came apart for cleaning OK, but I don't like the recoil spring - it's difficult to get back in. I just watched a youtube on how to do it, problem solved.

Good service from Bud's, as usual. Can't believe I got a pistol of this quality for the price I did. The Spectrum is an exceptional value.

nice little pocket gun, but gritty trigger; Im hoping it will smooth up over time. No failures as of yet with it.

Nice little pistol, very accurate, and comfortable in the hand. So many Pro's I ran about 150 rounds various ammo JHP and FMJ. Only 1 hang up the very first round of some Liberty Civil defense JHP's removed magazine tapped it and re-inserted and it just ran. For the price point, I just received my 2nd one. This is an outstanding back up pistol and my 5th Taurus with nothing but praise for these guys. Thanks to Team Buds for rapid 2 day shipping.

I have three Spectrums and recently wrote a review of another one. The positive things that applied to that one also apply to this one. This one also looks good, feels good in the hand with the extended magazine, is easily controllable when shooting, is not very snappy, and is reliable. However, I failed to mention that re-reassembly can be a royal PIA. The recoil spring is not captured, is about 1 ½ inches longer than the guide rod, and wants to squirrel around when attempting to compress it into place. I cut approximately 2 ½ inches off a wooden dowel that was slightly smaller in diameter than the guide rod hole in the end of the slide. Inserting the dowel thru the guide rod hole and into the end of the recoil spring helps to keep the spring from kinking when compressing it onto the guide rod (similar to the plastic dowel that came with my Walther P22 for the same purpose). This works best if you keep the guide rod and dowel in a straight line (otherwise the spring will still kink). I like the Spectrum pistol but Taurus really should provide a captured recoil spring (like Walther did with the P22-QD).

I watched every YouTube video review I could find before making my choice... ordered and paid for it on a Monday and it was shipped out by Wednesday... Just got mine today Friday 6/21/19... love the feel and quality of fit and finish... several reviews commented on a gritty feel to the trigger and yes there is a very slight, not really gritty, more of a grainy feel... of course being semi-mechanical I had to figure this out... lol... it's was easy... if you take off the slide and work the trigger it's as smooth as it can be... put the slide back on and there is a feel of grainy friction... take the slide off again and manipulate the firing pin spring and you'll feel some tension, which is relatively smooth... so where is the "grainy" feeling coming from... not sure what the part is actually called but I'm going to assume it's the safety "disconnector" that the trigger rod is in contact with... if you put finger pressure on the disconnector and try to pull the trigger, you'll feel "metal to metal" friction... BINGO... I put a drop of gun oil down there and worked it in and wiped away any excess... MUCH SMOOTHER... I may leave it alone, but I am wondering if taken apart if these two surfaces can be "slightly" polished to make a smoother interface... that shouldn't lighten the actual trigger pull as it doesn't effect the trigger spring or the firing pin spring... so really isn't a huge issue... just passing that observation on to those inclined to "tinker"...

First and foremost, thanks to everyone at Bud's.. I placed an order, and two days later my FFL had my firearm. You guys never cease to amaze me, from step one to 'we're done'.. Bud's is #1.

On to the review..

Being that it's now summer and shorts weather, and having just parted ways with my LCP during winter, I was in the market for and EDC 'pocket' carry. Granted, I was just as much of a skeptic on the Spectrum as the next person, and having looked before I leaped and learned about its borderline 'complexity', I was more than surprised to run into 98% less of the problems than you see on most reviews. Looks like Taurus learned a bit from the earlier models and made some really nice improvements to the internals (MUCH beefier springs than what you saw 2 years ago) that lead to a smoother feel on the rack and a MUCH more solid feed.

After a quick stop at home for a little TLC (mine didn't come w/much oil on it, if any) we were off to the range where I proceeded to feed this little pistol 200 rounds of Winchester white box (95g FMJ target). Zero light primer strikes, zero FTF's, zero loading issues.. felt great in the hand, especially with the 7 round mag (a 6 round shorter mag and a 7 round extended 'pinky' mag are included w/each firearm). The sights are as expected, but nothing a little white or glow in the dark touch-up won't remedy, and perfect at 7-10 yds.

All this, a lifetime warranty, PLUS a one year membership to the NRA on Taurus' dime included in the box?

It's a shame we can't rate things better than 'GOOD', because this little pistol fits that bill to a tee.

The sights are milled into the slide on the Spectrum. You could add some paint to aid you, but that's about it. Bud's shows SKUs for magazines for it, just not in stock at the moment.
