I bought the 460 magnum XVR 4-1/2 years ago. I have put around 250 rounds through it. Love this gun. Love to see water bottles turn to mist. I bought a scope for it and went deer hunting once. But didn't see any deer. I did see a hog and wish I had taken a shot, but I was still hoping for a deer at that point. All the 460 magnum rounds I have put through it have been reloads that I put together. I have bought 454 Casul and 45 long colt rounds and fired them. Never have had a problem with any ammunition.

This is my first Performance Center revolver purchase. I own and have owned several revolvers from Smith and Wesson.
The fit and finish on the .460 are superb and the soft case it came with is a nice touch.
It handles well for a piece of it's size. The trigger pull is so crisp! If you are looking for a good hunting revolver or just plain love wheel guns, this is for you!
I have not yet mounted a scope or optics of any kind, but having the option is nice.

After shooting the 500 magnum at a range I started looking at the x-frame revolvers. Was initially only looking at the 500mag but after researching the ballistics of the other large caliber revolvers, 44mag, 460mag, I settled on the 460. I was not only looking for a fun gun to take to the range but also wanted to be able to hunt species like deer, bear and hogs. I feel the 460 is best suited for my intentions and hunting situations. I decided that if I was gonna make the investment I was going to make sure I got exactly what I wanted so I went with the Performance Center version. I could not be happier with my purchase!!! Beautiful gun and an absolute blast to shoot! The recoil is not bad, some muzzle rise despite the compensator. The percussion is monumental though. Definately wear GOOD hearing protection! This gun is very accurate with just the stock sights and i am eager to see what she is capable of with a good scope! If you are looking at buying a large caliber revolver I highly recommend you consider the 460 xvr.

What can you say about a performance center gun, they are built for you one at a time, like having your personal gunsmith LOL, This 7.5 inch 460 XVR is awesome, no hard or sharp edges, love the cylinder being non fluted, and the trigger in single action is so soft be careful, and in double action is not heavy but not light either, might say just right. Balance is good too, and will probably put optics on the built in scope mount which am sure helps with the recoil. I got sick a few days after receiving gun so as yet not felt the recoil, but not worried, big caliber is my jam, 2nd gun was a model 29 44 magnum back in the late 70's and carry a 686 plus now. oh first gun was a 357 too. Next will be the 500 woohoo. Jim

This is one sexy piece of weaponry...BUDS has done it again!..my 460 arrived 3 days once it shipped and that's only because of an error made by FedEx which was addressed and corrected very quickly...this is my first performance center gun and I was in love with it as soon as my ffl presented it to me the fit and finish is awesome and the weight is not a problem...She's a big girl which explains the sling ..will be taking her to the range this weekend...I'm expecting excellence!

Wow! I was very surprised on how this gun felt! The pointability was very comfortable. I have been shooting the other 460 caliber revolver, though very accurate, it was not the most comfortable to shoot. Cowboy grips not very good for 460 magnum. The XVR was also very accurate. I expected 3 in. groups at 25 yds standing unsupported...the bullet holes were touching!! Cleaned it up for breaking in procedure and again i shot..thought it was just luck, but again...it looked like a one hole group...WOW! The 7.5 in revolver is perfect. Cant wait to try it on hogs! The shipping was pretty quick too.
