Chips in the sideplate upper edge and a sloppy roll stamp. Otherwise a beautiful gun. Buds was great and it was not 4473'ed and returned. Forget it S&W, Performance center QC is very disappointing. You know what you shipped and that's the disappointment to Bud's and me as you wasted our time and resources. Thank you Bud's for your professional service.

I love Smith and Wesson. BUT... This Performance Center 500Magnum is not in the best shape. Had a few nicks and scratches here and there but the worse issue is by the ejection rod and cylinder. It's actually on the frame. It is an unfinished sharp corner, that I found out will cut you like a razor!!! I have ALOT of Smith and Wesson handguns and this is the first time I've ever had an issue with the fit and finish. Had little issues with the mechanical workings before. (8yrs ago) I will be taking it to my gunsmith and have it taken care of. Not going to send it to S&W because I'd like to have my gun this year. Bud's, again you guys are awesome! Quick and fast service!

I own a lot of guns, long guns & handguns & this is hands down my favorite! It doesn't have the recoil that you'd expect Or that you see on YouTube videos.....it's manageable no problem. My S&W 44mag 2" barrel has more recoil than my 500mag. Fits well into the hands, great sights & a little heavier than expected but not too bad. Only drawback is ammo prices. It ranges from $0.96- $3.00/round! But in time, that will come down. The sound wave that goes with the blast is Great. It is loud. Get a good set of hearing protection headgear. I jokingly said that if the bullet doesn't get you, the blast wave will! Well, one thing for sure, after the first shot, you don't have a bunch of jerks hanging on your shoulders watching & telling you how to shoot a gun that they've never seen before! On a scale 1-10 on practical use, defensive use & just having fun........I'll give this Big Baby a 10.0....solid! Charles Johnson
