Smith & Wesson 642 Performance Center Double Action .38 Spc +P 1.875 5 Cust

I purchased this .38 as matching piece to my 686 plus and couldn't be happier. Trigger pull is much more smooth than other snub nose .38s I've used. It's light weight and +P ammo gives this beautiful firearm a nice punch for self defense. Received my new 642. Another smooth transaction. No need to look elsewhere and take a risk and save a couple of bucks when you know there's no better than Buds.

I can't say enough about this revolver. Very smooth trigger all the way through the cycle - there is a slight indication when its set and ready to fire - easy to pick up after a handful of rounds. Certainly stout when firing +P as I expected but nothing to write home about. I did quickly add some red paint on the front ramp and a black Sharpy to hilight the rear sight window. Without that, the brushed SS front ramp and platinum like rear frame picture are harder to distinguish quickly. it gets on target very quickly now. Comes out of my pocket holster even quicker. I don't even notice the 642 when carrying it. It is that light. I wasn't sure about the grip until I fired it - the extra little bit of finger rest on the tip is perfect for my medium fat hands. It feels good and natural and allows a comfortable single hand shot when necessary. Finally, she sure is purty! This was my 4th purchase from Bud's. More often than not, they have the lowest price or pretty close. When you add in a free shipping deal and no sales tax in my destination state, I cant beat it.

Great little firearm. Use it for personal defense for home and travel. No chance of a jam or fail to fire. If so...just squeeze the trigger one more time.. love it. Am searching for some more comfortable grips, that fit correctly, to make range firing more enjoyable. Leo
