When you need distance and precision, Henry gives you a whole new hunt with the Long Ranger. Definitely not your Grandpa\'s Henry, the Long Ranger retains traditional lever action operation with exposed hammer and forged steel lever, but updates it with a geared action that drives a machined and chromed steel bolt with a 6-lug rotary head into a rear extension of the barrel for a strong and consistent lock-up from shot to shot to shot. Its American walnut stock has a straight grip with cut checking on the grip and forearm. The Long Ranger has a 20\" round, free-floated steel barrel with a blued finish, and a drilled/tapped receiver made of lightweight alloy with a black hardcoat anodized finish. It includes swivel studs, a removable magazine, hammer extension and scope mount. his model has a ramp front sight with .062\" ivory bead and a fully adjustable, folding rear sight. Henry Ho14S223: Beautifully crafted lever action. Walnut stock is flawless. It came out of the box shooting straight with the lever action exhibiting the smooth slide that Henry rifles are known for. The clip design is solid and easy to load. Bud's was typically on time and kept me informed of the shipping location. The transaction went off without a hitch. I am very pleased with this rifle and my purchase experience.

The Henry Long Ranger is a great rifle. I’ve focused on two hundred yard targets and it hasn’t disappointed once. The action is smooth and the trigger is the perfect balance. The workmanship is superb and worth every penny.

Love this gun, it's my first Henry and all that I expected, and my experience with Buds couldn't have been better.

This rifle is *amazing*. Sights were spot-on right out of the gate. I didn't have a scope mounted on it during the first trial run, but was easily ringing steel plates from a 100- yard bench, and my eyes aren't as good as they used to be. You need to be ascertive with the action, but not like a pro wrestler... just cycle the lever like you mean it, and you'll have smooth, quick reloads in the blink of an eye. Very pleased with the accuracy, fit, and finish. The wood is typical Henry gorgeous, and the entire package didn't have a mark or flaw anywhere. And WOW is it shootable... it's almost like shooting a 22LR, there's not a lot of recoil to report. It has since been scoped, and only sighted in with a laser bore... can't wait to hit the range when the weather is better to get this beautiful setup dialed in. One thing to note is that the bolt does NOT come out, unlike traditional Henry Big Boy models that allow the bolt to exit the rear of the gun after you remove the lever. I found this to NOT be a problem... the face of the bolt is easily accessible for cleaning, and the majority of what needs cleaned is the barrel and breech. The bolt was actually quite clean after my first outing, needing only a mild wipe-down and light lubing. Lord be with you if you ignore this message and remove the bolt... the cam system has a lot going on, and you might need a PhD from Henry to get it back together and timed correctly.
