When you need distance and precision, Henry gives you a whole new hunt with the Long Ranger. Definitely not your Grandpa's Henry, the Long Ranger retains traditional lever action operation with exposed hammer and forged steel lever, but updates it with a geared action that drives a machined and chromed steel bolt with a 6-lug rotary head into a rear extension of the barrel for a strong and consistent lock-up from shot to shot to shot. Its American walnut stock has a straight grip with cut checking on the grip and forearm. The Long Ranger has a 20" round, free-floated steel barrel with a blued finish, and a drilled/tapped receiver made of lightweight alloy with a black hardcoat anodized finish. It includes swivel studs, a removable magazine, hammer extension and scope mount. his model has a ramp front sight with .062" ivory bead and a fully adjustable, folding rear sight.

This rifle is nice and compact. This is a well built firearm. It really has a premium feel to it. My particular rifle shot a readily available and very common 150 grain soft point bullet into less than a 1 inch group at 100 yards. Very accurate for a lever gun. Bud's turnaround time was spot on. I will consider them for future firearms purchases.

I have not taken the rifle to the range yet, but the materials, fit, and finish are outstanding. I am very impressed with Henry and will probably buy another lever-action rifle from them.

Picked up at Bud's Lexington a couple weeks ago, excellent service from the counter personnel. Was able to get to the range today, most pleased with this rifle. Very accurate with open sights and Federal American Eagle ammo even with my aging eyes. Rear sight has three graduations, lowest seemed to be on center at 25 yards, middle mark seemed to be good for 100 yards, managed a pretty good group at that distance. Action a little stiff, but I'm sure it will wear in.

Although I have not shot my Long ranger 308 yet, the craftsmanship is beautiful. I love the flush magazine.

This rifle is incredible. The fit and finish are top notch. The rifle shoots to point of aim. Although this rifle is scope capable and could easily reach out to 300 metes, I will be using it as hog gun, open sights at a 100 meters or less in the brush. The lock up is robust. The action is relatively stiff compared to the pistol caliber Henry's I own, but its just a matter of working the lever with authority and allowing the rifle to break in. I ordered two extra magazines from Henry. The magazines also need to break in as their springs are stiff as well. I went through about forty rounds before the magazines loaded with relative ease and the action began to smooth out. For any thing that you would need to hunt in North America with the exception of grizzly or bison this rifle can certainly handle it (of course there are those who say that the .308 is enough for dangerous North American game at distance). I believe that anyone who purchases this rifle will not be disappointed!
