right out of the box I was keeping 2 inch groups after the barrel heated up. It moved to five and then 10 and then I could not hit a target at 50 yards, 30 rounds into it. the barrel is made out of is poor quality metal it bends and flex’s like nothing I have ever seen

It's a Henry Rifle! Great quality and workmanship! I received this just yesterday from my FFL. Today I put about 50 rounds through it. I did not bother with the stock sights and opted for Vortex optics instead. One of the challenges is that there is not much room between the hammer and the scope. I ended up with extra high profile scope rings and still barely had room for my thumb to cock the hammer. So, you may want to consider that before adding a scope. I started out with some handloads: 240 Grain FMJ. Hodgdon H110 powder @ 24 grains or about 1522 fps... Fairly potent recoil but manageable. I did 30 rounds and will probably be a little sore in the morning. Then to get it sighted in for deer season I shot Hornady Handgun Hunter in 200 grain hybrid hollow point. Recoil was much less but still packed a little punch. This is not a .22LR! Both loads performed well in the gun. Groups were nice and tight. I sighted it in at 75 yards and was producing 3" groups. Very nice firearm!

I really wanted to like this rifle, but the accuracy just wasn't there. A very pretty rifle with nice walnut and solidly built. I have always liked single shot rifles so when these came out I bought this and a .45/70. Neither one showed good accuracy so I traded them both in. Sorry Henry, but this gets a thumbs down from me.

I have had my Henry Single shot 44 mag out to the range two times now. Really easy to shoot and quick to sight in. It is well balanced, has an effective recoil pad and the wood on the rifle looks terrific! The trigger pull is just under 4 lbs and is very crisp!! Excellent trigger! The bluing on the steel is very nice too. If I have one complaint, it is that the finish on the receiver looks very cheap. It has the appearance and texture of pot metal. And the new/improved trigger guard looks even cheaper. It has casting/mould marks on it. I'm sure that the the metal is fine all the way around. But this is my first Henry and all I have heard about, and seen from them, have been excellent workmanship. The receiver finish looks so much different than the rest of the metal on this rifle. I am a bit disappointed in that. Was thinking of getting another in a different caliber, when I first ordered this one. But I am really put off at the cheap appearance of the receiver and trigger guard.

The Henry 44 magnum single shot rifle I ordered from Bud’s is a really high quality piece. The American walnut fore-end and stock are beautiful and the checkering is flawless. Now Henry Repeating Arms has issued a recall on all single shot rifles and shotguns manufactured prior to 07/01/2020. They claim that while testing a trigger upgrade the hammer on one weapon only failed to hold and slipped causing the weapon to discharge . This is a voluntary recall and if you take advantage of it you also get a free trigger upgrade. So, I submitted the form on Henry’s website and requested the free shipping box so I could send my rifle prepaid both ways to get upgraded. It has been 7 day so far and other than them acknowledging my request I have not received a box or any other communications. I checked my rifle out and it functioned properly. I took it to the range and it was a blast to shoot. The heavy trigger pull and sharp break did not effect accuracy at all. 2 inch groups open, sight at 50 yards out of the box, and I am by no means a marksman. I fired a total of 50 rounds this time and couldn’t be happier.. I might not even send it back for the recall as it may take many months to get it back. I really love this basic and very beautiful rifle. As usual It is a pleasure doing business with Buds Gun Shop.

Great looking gun very nice wood. Blued finish was flawless. No shipping damage at all. Fast service from buds! Trigger pull on mine is about six pounds, better than a lot of these but still high. But easily corrected if I want to. It’s all good. You will like it. Mine was in .44 mag.

Great rifle/gun. Very accurate right out of the box. I have put about 100 rounds through it without any issues. Nice finish ready to hunt or use at the range. Looking for an affordable rifle the Henry is your friend.
