• Q: Assuming you get the normal Ruger AR15 with MLOK style handgaurd....what makes this $200 plus more than the Ruger?

  John, not much really. The Savage rifles has traditionally run $150 to $250 more than their Ruger counterparts from day one the Savages were introduced. Th only advantage is the Savage sports a 16-1/8" barrel with a 1:8 twist with 5R rifling for fantastic accuracy.

• Q: Is the muzzle on the 22901 version threaded? If yes, what is the diameter and thread pitch?

  Steven, Yes this threaded barrel has a 1/2-28 thread pitch. Any standard AR 15 muzzle devices will fit and function on this firearm.

  John, The 2.0 version is out. Do not know when it will be in stock at BUDs. MSRP is $999. It is model 22970 this model is 22901. You can compare. Here are the new features:---------

• Q: Is this gun legal in Virginia, as is? Would i have to register it with the state police because of the magazine capacity?

  At this time there are NO restrictions against owning and using this gun in VA it is classified as a "assault rifle" but VA does not have any special restrictions on assault rifles at this time. There are some Proposed restrictions in the VA house that would ban all "assault rifles" but they are not expected to pass
