Savage had a nice product in this rifle. It's super light weight, has a great trigger and is amazingly accurate with ammo it likes. I suppose, like every .22, there is always one load it likes above all others and CCI Standard Velocity is the one for my rifle. It'll make one ragged hole in the bullseye if I do my part. The threaded barrel and short overall length make it a perfect companion for a suppressor. Small game had better sit up and take notice!

The rifle is well made and very accurate and I really like shooting it suppressed! However the stock is very flimsy ( I cross drilled the honey comb under the barrel channel and filled it with bondo.) and the magazines kind of suck. But I really like it overall.

Just got it today so I've not done any ammo testing other than to get it sighted in. With CCI subsonic small game at 50yds, it's easily minute-of-squirrel accurate. Hopefully some more ammo testing can tighten that up a bit. The comb is a little on the short side even with low scope mounts, but not so low that you can't compensate. The 10 shot mag is better than a 5 shot stick, but is a bit of a pain to load because instead of pushing the round down to make room for the next one, it actually rotates at the feed lips. They should have adopted the Ruger 10-22 mag. I also had trouble clicking the magazine in on a closed bolt. Most times I had to open the bolt to get it to lock in. Maybe with some use that will change. My main purpose with this was to suppress it for plinking in the back yard without startling everyone and for that this is a gem. Accurate enough for starling, sparrow, and hostile tin can elimination, quiet enough to do it at 6am without causing alarm.

I bought this rifle based on reviews I saw on YouTube. I like the rifle and it shoots accurately at 50 yards with CCI SV ammo. The rifle does have a few shortcomings that are quickly apparent. I understand the stock is more rigid than the earlier version, the Mark II FV SR, but it is still flexible enough to be pressed against the barrel, thus making it non-free floating. There are YouTube videos offering DYI improvements to that issue or perhaps there are some aftermarket stocks available if that is important to you. The other problem is that after 40-50 rounds I started to experience empty case extraction issues. The internet seems to suggest that this is an ongoing problem with this model. I reached out to Savage yesterday and hope to hear back in a few days. Based on some YouTube videos I determined how to remove the extractor (relatively simple) so I could examine the part. On mine the entire extractor was still the factory black finish except for the point of the hook that grabs the case rim. It appeared the point had chipped off, leaving an insufficient surface to grab the case rim. Even though the case is easy to pull out of the chamber manually, the extractor seems to be sliding off the rim when the bolt is drawn back. The extractor appears to be a cheap stamped part with a design that should work but perhaps the actual extractor hook should be made of a better alloy or hardened a bit and machined or ground to a more reliable profile. I have asked Savage if extractor blades can be purchased, as the part is very easily replaced. If I can get the extractor issue resolved in some way, I will be very pleased with the rifle, considering the cost.

Wanted a bolt action .22 with a threaded barrel for a supressor. Had been looking at the ruger american rifles but they were out of stock. Found this one with great reviews, in stock and over 100 bucks cheaper so I bought it. Ive put a few hundred round through it so far and I've very satisfied with my purchase. Had a few failure to ejects but it wasn't a big deal to me. I mean 4 failures out of probably 300 rounds ill take it for what I paid for the rifle and I bought it to plink with nothing more except maybe some mild pest control. All in all I'm happy with it. Just need to find some more ammo and currently awaiting approval for my supressor.

Been shooting it now for about 2 months, For the price seems to be well worth the money. With the right ammo shoots great groupings.Except for the plastic stalk no problems.

This B22FVSR is a very nice and extremely accurate 22 LR. The oversized bolt is easy to locate and grip. The bolt is very smooth and functions flawlessly. The synthetic stock has a high comb and provides a good cheek weld. The weight of the rifle with the synthetic stock seems light to carry and should make a very good small game choice. The safety is in a good and easy to access location. I like the adjustable accutrigger. I have had good paper results with Remington Cbees HP, CCI quiet round nose, CCI Standard Velocity, and Winchester Subsonic HP as well. I was looking for a suppressor ready .22 LR that would be accurate to take small game, easy to carry and wouldn’t break the bank. The Savage B22FVSR fits the bill. I considered several different rifles, some costing much more however I am very satisfied with my choice. Good luck and God Bless, DT
