I use this gun regularly during my training classes. My students love it, I've received lots of positive comments on this gun. It's great for a beginner as it's not intimidating and a novice can practice their marksmanship in a safe and relaxed manner.

I had to send my gun back to Walther because the hammer would not cock when I racked the slide. When I got it back it would only fire the first round and then the trigger would not reset. I have tryed communicating with Walther after that to try to get a refund, but to no avail. Would not recommend this firearm, very unreliable.

I cannot say enough for this hand gun on performance. It is accurate and it likes any 22 Long Rifle ammunition you want to out through it. Even the wife will enjoy firing this piston.

Fantastic little pistol, extremely fun to shoot. Did not think I'd love it as much as I do, being just a 'plinker', but enough "big gun" features and bang to make it a ton of fun to shoot.
If you're already a Walther fan and own a PPQ, you'll love this gun, it is a mini-PPQ. If you're not yet a Walther fan, you will be.
Disclaimer - I am already a big Walther fan
Pro's -
Very reliable so far. Everyone knows how finicky 22 handguns can be, but this gun has been nothing but reliable through its first few hundred rounds. I've only used supersonic ammo - both standard and high velocity copper plated - but have had no issues. Personally, I don't see a reason for subsonic in a pistol unless suppressed, and I try to stay away from lead nose.
Updated Note - I have tried this gun with a heavy full size 9mm suppressor, and again no cycling issues.
Trick - I did utilize a trick i found on-line to get through the break in period quickly. Clean and lube, remove the recoil spring, and cycle the slide a couple hundred times. Then repeat. I then also racked it a couple hundred times with the recoil spring. No idea if this actually contributed to the reliability out of the gate, but again, no cycling issues since bullet #1.
Small and light weight. Excellent for small hands, (e.g. children) learning to shoot, especially compared to some of the bigger 22lr options out their.
Hi-Viz sight and threaded barrel adapter included. And 2 mags.
Cons -
You will love it so much you'll want to ditch out of work early to go shoot. and shoot. and shoot some more.

BOUGHT THIS AS A GUN MY GF COULD ENJOY/CARRY....
first I want to point out that the transaction with BUDS was great as always with their bad ass layaway system for us regular folks!
this purchase was for my girlfriend to tote around, light and accurate, however...first time we went to the range, FTF FTE ISSUES IMMEDIATELY!!
At fist I had an irritated female yelling I'M GRIPPING IT AND HOLDING IT RIGHT!! SO STOP!! (I chalked it up to improper handling of the gun), then I myself tried it, 50/50 function.
I put cci mini mags in it (my preferred 22lr) so i highly doubt the ammo the manufacturer recommends, is the issue, look around on forums to find ways to "fix" my brand new p22, im extremely uninterested in buying a firearm that potentiality may have to be used as a defense firearm, and wont work properly out the box and after a 500 round break in period.
ALL IN ALL, Ruger makes a great alternative along with other great 22lr you don't have to polish and baby like this...

The Walther P22 is an excellent pistol for practicing draw, site acquisition, and mostly getting in trigger time at a reduced rate per round for ammo. It's a solid, compact pistol which has yet to exhibit any issues with jamming, stove piping, etc. It's especially nice to have the threaded barrel on the QD option for future use of a suppressor. Obviously, you don't want to dry fire any rimfire weapon, even though Walther says it can be done if the safety is on, but they don't recommend it.
I liked the fact that it comes with 2-different size backstraps to adjust to your hand size. There are other options that some gun stores said were better, like the Ruger SR22, but the Walther most certainly holds its own against any 22lr I've shot, and the price point cannot be beaten! Buds Guns has always been my go-to place for firearms, accessories, etc. Great customer service, speedy delivery, etc. If you are in the market for a 22lr pistol, I believe this is the one that tops them all!
Thanks Buds Guns for the great pistol and even better price! You have a customer for life!

Walther P22 QD FDE tactical, this is a great little pistol. There are many suitable 22LR suppressor hosts, Rugers, S&W, and various others. Still i chose the Walther and this is why 1. cost at $300 it is perhaps not the absolute cheapest 22 host but it is a very economical cost. 2. style. the walther has very nice modern styling, avalible in my favorite FDE, i like the euro mag release under trigger guard. 3. lower rail, this little 22 has a rail for attaching things, or the walther lazer that fits like a glove and maintains the look. 4. Ergonomics. the grip is very comfortable, points easly has changeable backstraps. 5. threaded barrel. this model has the threaded adapter installed, it can be removed. 6. magazines. the walther p22 magazines are usually about $20 but it comes with 2 and they are of the highest quality. i would recommend this pistol to anyone.

Easily concealed, comfortable fit, no issues with rapid fire, trigger is a little heavy but will lighten up with break-in.

Great experience ordering online. My husband loves the gun and says it’s very accurate and the best birthday gift he’s ever received.
