I've owned several Beretta tip up barrel pistols in the past however they were all used & well broken in when I came across them. This Beretta Bobcat 21a is my first new tip up barrel pistol and boy is it tight! Very well made & built to last a life time. I fired 150 rounds of Federal auto match without a single jam or misfire. Pistol comes shipped inside a small zippered carry pouch in a cardboard box. unzip the pouch and the pistol was inside a blue plastic bag, dripping wet with oil. I had to wipe it down with a terry cloth rag including the magazine before shooting. Pistol was reliable and functioned perfectly. It will take a couple hundred rounds before this pistol loosens up.

I bought the Beretta 21 Bobcat .22 LR Inox Stainless, and received it in a week or so. I sent it to the local Rural King, which to my surprise only charged $37 bucks for FFL to FFL transfer. Most places charge $50 plus. I use as a backup to my concealed carry (Glock 43x). I love Beretta guns.

It%u2019s a little early to tell how things will end up with this, but here is what%u2019s happened so far. The first few magazines went through the gun quite well, This was shooting with Winchester ammunition. Then switching to American Eagle problems started. The ammunition wasn%u2019t strong enough to cycle the slide. When firing the shell would eject, but a new round would not be chambered because the slide didn%u2019t go back far enough. For each shot I had to fire then rack the slide. Then, sometime after that a magazine became jammed in the gun. And once it was James in the gun, that was the end of shooting .. I took the gun apart at home and was able to remove the magazine and it appears the locking point / hole in the magazine was slightly off. It forced you to push harder to lock the magazine. And once locked in , it was very difficult to remove. This was a factory magazine. The other problem is the manual safety is extremely difficult to work, but that may break in after a while. From what I%u2019ve read these small .22s can be ammunition sensitive. I%u2019ve had similar issues with a Ruger LCP 2 .22. Things may work out in time if I find an ammunition that works well, and if the safety loosens up some. And I%u2019m hoping I can get Beretta to replace the defective magazine. I purchased. 2 other factory magazines from Buds and those work fine.

Buds shipped the gun in a timely manner and I was pretty surprised how fast it arrived.

Great and fun little pistol. I was a bit worried to start as the trigger was horrible. Not just heavy but rough as well. I havent had a chance to put very many rounds down range, (about a box) but have loaded shot brass empties and dry fired quite a lot. Also took a part and thoroughly cleaned then put another couple of mags through it. Much improved. I will say the trigger can pinch the sides of the finger especially on double action and if you have large hands. I haven\'t any trouble with it now. Smaller hands. But so far, one failure to feed. ....first mag , but been no other problems. Seems quite accurate for such a little pistol. I\'ll know more as I do more shooting with in! Buds was great!

I’m very pleased with the Bobcat. Its size, build quality, and ease of use are ideal for my needs. I did have to practice the manual of arms due to its unusual operating characteristics - break open barrel and no slide lock, but that only took a few minutes. Trigger pull is very easy in both DA and SA. It’s a natural pointer and aiming isn’t necessary at under 7 yards. Field stripping takes about 2 seconds and another 3 to reassemble.

Absolutely love this gun. Its an icon in the gun world. Cleaned it then took it to the range. Ran great with all types of high velocity ammo. Functioned best with remington thunderbolts, even better than CCI minimags.

I had one of these pistols back in the 80s. At the time I didn\'t know you had to shoot high velocity ammo in order for the gun to function. Thought it was trash so I got rid of it. After reading many positive reviews, I decided to take a chance. Glad I did. Ordered some CCI Mini-Mags and the gun works flawlessly with them. Just like back in the day, it wouldn\'t function with cheap stuff. That is, most cheap stuff. I was surprised to discover that mine works perfectly with Remington Thunderbolt 40 grain lead round nose ammo. Stated velocity on the box is 1255 at the muzzle. At fifteen bucks for 500 rounds, I couldn\'t be happier.

The gun is accurate and totally reliable with this load. Magazines are a bit of a pain to load, but I use a spent .38 casing to hold down the tiny little nub to compress the spring making loading a breeze. You could use your fingernail in a pinch, but not for extended shooting sessions as that mag spring is pretty stiff. I ordered a few extra mags from Midway as well. Their prices are on par with everyone else, but free shipping sealed the deal for me.

As for functionality, the Bobcat ran perfectly with the Thunderbolt until after about 150 rounds when the casing started sticking due to the gun being excessively dirty. No problem. Just tipped up the barrel and swabbed it with an oily Q-tip. Problem solved. The sights are difficult for my 60 year old eyes to pick up, just a groove and thin blade, but are dead on ten yards. Surprisingly accurate for a gun this small. Due to it\'s small dimensions and light weight, I carry it in my shirt pocket when spending the day at the creek. This is not a target pistol by any means, but a solid practical little gun well suited for close encounters with empty beer cans and friendly snakes.

The Beretta is expensive for a small .22, but well worth the price to me. The craftsmanship, fit and finish are top notch. Should hold up to many thousands of rounds for a lifetime of plinking enjoyment. I have many .22s, but this one is quickly becoming my favorite.

I received the 21A undamaged in an acceptable time frame. I found the workmanship of the Gallatin manufacture to be the same quality as my Italian and Maryland Berettas. It functions perfectly as expected however the trigger pinches the top of my finger on fully restoring and on single action pinches the bottom of my finger. I have not had this problem with any other Beretta. My suggestion to eliminate this is for Beretta to fit the Tom Cat trigger as I find this very similar model more than pleasant to shoot. In conclusion, as always I give Bud\'s a 5-star rating but must reduce the total experience to a 4-star rating because of the painful \"trigger pinch\" encountered by the poor trigger design.

I have not received this firearm. I would appreciate an update as to when and where the delivery will occur.

I am not able to give a review of the firearm itself

Thanks,
