• Q: The S&W Model 617 4 inch is described as stainless/silver finish. The frame and barrel are described as stainless leaving the cylinder to be "silver" or aluminum. If so this appears to be a model 617-A. Is the cylinder aluminum? I am not concerned with whether the cylinder is strong- I worry if over time it will continue to match the barrel etc.

• Q: I know this is a K frame. My question has to do with the k frame grip frame. Is it a round butt or square butt? I want grips aftermarket but don’t want to buy the ones I don’t need.

  This have a round butt grip frame. If you prefer square you can get round butt grips but with a square shape grip as in a conversion without altering the actual gun.
