I got these to shoot snakes in my yard using a cobra derringer. Just needed something that would splat a copperhead at 10' or so. Granted the cobra derringer is not the most accurate of weapons and my review might not apply to a better revolver.
I haven't had the opportunity to shoot a snake, but I did test on a coke can and a pizza box. There are only 25 pellets in these things. The round seemed plenty powerful to dispatch just about any small vermin at this short range, but at 10' the pattern seemed a little sparse to be consistently effective on snakes.
I have used the .45 version of these things on snakes at 10' or so but I don't like packing a 45 auto around for snakes and I don't particularly like shooting these through my nicer firearms. The .45 version that I have uses #9 shot.
I am going carry and shoot these until they are gone, but next time I am going to get the 38 Special version with the #9 shot. In my opinion the denser pattern of the #9s will increase the chances of getting a few pellets in the small target and based on my past experience the #9s are big enough.
These work, Bud's price is about as good as you are going to find these and of course they arrived quickly as always, but I think I prefer the #9s
