Hudson H9's elegant simplicity and cutting-edge design is unite in a stunning example of modern weaponry. It features an all steel frame with a black finish, straight-pull trigger, trigger safety, G-10 VZ grip and interchangeable grip panels, and an accessory rail for aftermarket lights or lasers. The unconventional nose of the pistol allows for the barrel and recoil spring to sit drastically lower and closer to the hand than heritage designs. This, coupled with its striker-fired design, creates an extremely low bore axis which reduces torque about the wrist when firing and contributes to unparalleled precision in the shot process. This model includes three 15-round 9mm magazines.

I wish the Hudson was still in production. I think it certainly had a lot of potential, even if not yet realized. Still a fun gun, and hopefully a bit of a collector's item.

Where can I see the Hudson H9 shoots very nicely and has a very manageable recoil. I especially like the fact it is all metalI gun which means it's a little heavier. I definitely recommend this handgun....

300 rounds through, works great. They're out of business though, so support is going to be paying my gunsmith CNC guy for replacement parts. Hope someone picks up their production like Bond did with Boberg.
Would love to recommend but I just can't with the current lack of warranty support or any repair support really. Such a shame, it really is a cool pistol.

This gun is destined to be a collectors item. Especially with the company having financial issues??? Shoots really well and I grabbed several extra mags from Hudson just in case

I bought this gun as soon as the price dropped to $900. What I received appeared to be very high quality, except that the slide did not go fully into battery when empty. It could go all the way home, but I would need to manually assist the slide and push it into battery. This was the first problem I noticed when dry firing it on the first day I took it back home. Granted, it did not do this all the time, as I tested its function before accepting the transfer and it appeared to be working flawlessly. However, this would not be the case. I tested it again with snap caps. Same problem, did not go fully into battery. If I pulled the slide back as far as I could, it would sometimes go into battery, but most of the time it needed to be assisted. When it came time for range day, I brought with me 124 grain FMJ ammo. I had 300 rounds to break the gun in and I managed to get through half of it. Over 90% of the rounds I fired failed to bring the gun into battery. I was slapping the back of the slide after every shot so I was constantly resetting my grip and sight picture. For that reason I can't say if the gun is indeed flatter on the recoil as many people have attested to. After 150 rounds, the striker gave out. I do not know what happened to it exactly as I did not want to disassemble the gun any further than field stripping it. But the striker would no longer cause the firing pin to protrude from its housing. The gun would no longer fire, and I am now forced to return the gun to the manufacturer for warranty repair. I am not sure how this gun managed to pass quality control, seeing as its problems occurred greater than 90% of the time. Hudson, by the way, does not have a customer service phone number as far as I can tell. I have been waiting several days on an email reply, but I dont suspect they will be quick about it even when I do manage to get in touch with them. Buds also told me they couldn't help, but at least they told me within a few minutes, rather than ignoring my messages.

The Hudson H9 is a keeper for me. She uses a concept similar to the USP Match and the VP with the match weight under the barrel. The recoil spring being cleverly placed under the barrel adds weight and balance that some may find odd or unconventional, but I like it. The trigger while a bit floaty is otherwise the best striker fired pistol trigger I've fired so far. The dark rear and tritium front sight system I like and have on my Custom Colt combat commander which I shoot very accurately. I plan on shooting thousands of rounds through the H9. With break-in I can only assume she'll shoot even better.

After several trips to the shooting range I can offer the following: Pretty much everything you've heard about this gun is true. The good and the bad. The good: It fits in the hand wonderfully. The ergonomics are outstanding. It is easily the most "pointable" pistol I've owned with the possible exception of the H&K P7. The recoil is also very light. Partly because of the weight of the gun, but also due to mechanics of the Hudson. It's pretty unique with it's lack of muzzle flip and feels very similar to shooting a gas delayed gun again like the H&K P7 or the Walther CCP, most closely resembling the HK owing to the weight of both pistols. The trigger. This is what a trigger should be. light, clean break, short reset. It's marvelous. I can not say enough good things about this trigger....once you get used to it. The bottom pivoting blade safety thing feels a little strange the first couple times shooting the gun. But besides that this trigger a thing of beauty. The inclusion of 3 magazines was appreciated as well as the cost of additional magazines being a reasonable $35 or so. The packaging (which is something I usually don't care at all about) deserves a mention. It is outstanding, easily the nicest packaging of any firearm I have purchased, including a sturdy box and two layers of custom cut HD foam. The meh: Reliability has been good, but not great. In fairness I only have run a few hundred rounds through this gun. I have experienced a few stove pipes and twice the gun cycled without feeding a new round from the magazine. These were all in the first 200 rounds, all new manufactured Winchester 124 grain 9MM Nato. 50 rounds of Federal HST 147 grain ran 100%. At this point I chalk it up to breaking in a new gun, but it should be mentioned. The bad: Accuracy. I'm not sure what load they used to regulate the sights on the gun, but I does shoot a little low at 10-15 yards. Groups really open up at 20 yards . The trijicon sights that ship on the gun are not geared for bullseye shooting, but would serve okay on a defense pistol I suppose. Obviously if you were thinking of using this in competition you would need to change out the sights.......however....... Groups are pretty inconsistent with this pistol. The best groups I were able to get were with hand loaded 147 grain. 147 grain shoots closest to POA. However there are fliers in pretty much every group, most notably as you start to shoot 20 meters and beyond. The lock up on the Hudson just doesn't seem to lend itself to consistently returning the pistol to the same POA/POI. Overall, I'll keep it. Although I don't really have a need for it. It's a bit heavy for a carry gun. A bit loose for competition. But it's a pleasure to shoot at the range. I appreciate the innovation represented in this gun and am happy to support a new start up in the industry.

As always Buds did a great job matching a price and getting this pistol to me. First off the pistol is beautiful. The box presentation is top notch. Positive first, great trigger very fast, comes with 3 mags, nice construction heavy duty, recoil is very light and shoot good. Breakdown is easy. Negitave — mags are very very hard to load, after the 9 round it gets so hard it hurts. Shoots a little low and I’ve had a few failures to feed and a few out of battery failures. Ive shot around 350 rounds. I really like the Hudson. Going to break it in some more this weekend.

Very smooth shooting pistol with a good trigger and not a lot of felt recoil. Exterior is slick and smooth with nothing to catch on clothing or other. 1911 style trigger is sweet. Only warning is they use big dot Trijicon front sight that isn't really meant for target shooting. It is a combat sight. Pistol is accurate if you can get used to that. No reliability issues after a few hundred rounds.
