Nice little gun. I needed a lighter gun and was expecting less accuracy and more recoil from the lcr 357. It turned out to be quite accurate - I can hit a 12 inch target at 25 yards most of the time, and while there is more recoil it isn't painful with 38 special, even +p rounds.

I carried an lcr in 38 spl years ago and have missed it so much I decided to purchase this model with the exposed hammer and it's a very good upgrade over the original the trigger is very smooth and steady along with good accuracy make this a great carry gun, full power 357 loads pack a punch and can sting a bit but the rubber grips do make a difference and it is a very fun revolver to shoot

I currently own two Ruger LCRx's: a 9mm and a .38 Special. I love their look and feel and how well they shoot, and I love the option of either single action or double action, so I bought one in .357 magnum and fired 158 grain rounds through it first. Yes, when you shoot .357 magnum rounds through it, it roars like a dragon and kicks like one, too. But, I love it, even though the recoil gets a little much to take after a while. But, there are other ammo options, too, which is one of the reasons I wanted this revolver. I have fired 125 grain .38 Special +P through it, and it growls like a grizzly, but the recoil is much less pronounced, some of it due to the fact that it has a steel frame as opposed to the aluminum one of the LCRx .38 Special. I have also fired 130 grain .38 Special rounds through it, and they kick like a kitten compared to the other more powerful rounds. I can actually hit targets with this revolver as well. It carries concealed well, in the waist or in a pocket, and the external hammer offers no problem with the Soft Armor #7 holsters that I use. I have had absolutely no issues with my LCRx revolvers except that steel-cased ammo does not eject well from them; otherwise, I highly recommend buying this .357 magnum revolver from Bud's because their price is around $100 cheaper than other places right now!

This gun is, more or less, useless. Full load .357 magnum rounds are too hot to accurately shoot out of this gun; so you may as well get the .38 plus p, which is cheaper.
