I found Bud's during the Covid shutdown as I usually shopped locally in the KC area. I have ordered four firearms (3 handguns and 1 rifle + ammo) and I have to say the experience has been phenomenal. Buds had in stock what I was looking for. Processing my order was no problem, smooth and their shipping group is nothing short of A+++. Shipped without issue and obviously being nervous that my gun might arrive damaged...Bud's efforts to make sure that didn't happen...A+++ once again. I am not a die-hard shooter, just a guy and his wife living in rural Kansas who enjoys our country's 2nd amendment. We love Bud's and they will always be our go to for future purchases.

Excellent fit and finish I really like the choice of 2 grip sizes to choose from easy to change tool included Shoots great no problem with 3 different brands of ammo FMJ and HP Not having held one previous to purchase I was expecting a wider grip with 10 round capacity clip however the 10 round clip is just longer and extended from the grip which Ruger included a extra finger rest not a problem but I would only carry it with the other clip Nothing negative just FYI Excellent 45 Compact which I expected from Ruger

My experience with the Ruger American pistol compact, chambered in 45acp, has been throughly positive. It is a very accurate pistol, the groupings are a marvel to behold when I perform my best at the range. In addition to its eagle eye accuracy, the Ruger American pistol is superbly reliable as Ruger weapons are renowned if not fabled to be. As far as weight, it is surprisingly light despite its appearance. The weight of this 45 compact pistol does not bother me albeit it is comfortably noticeable on my hip. Recoil is manageable with a proper grip. Do your part and the weight of the pistol will mitigate the recoil of the 45 acp. Objectively, the Ruger American compact in 45 acp is an oasis of value as comparable contenders are priced much higher than this pistol. The only negative is not with the pistol or pistol design in itself, but with the extension for the 10 round magazines. The black polymer extension for this size magazine should be permanently attached to the magazine for 10 round magazines instead of removable. Keep in mind the 10 round magazine were meant for the full size version of the pistol. The extension is needed to have a seemless contact with the pistol grip. Other than this personal preference, which you can dismiss, the magazines themselves perform without issue.

Impressed. Nominal recoil for the caliber, and very concealable. About 200 rounds put through it so far, with no issues. Easy disassembly for cleaning. Would recommend.
