The Ruger AR-556 Model 8502 is chambered in 5.56 NATO with M4 feed ramps provide improved operational reliability. The heavy contour, cold hammer-forged barrel has ultra-precise rifling for exceptional accuracy, longevity, and easy cleaning. The 1:8 twist rate stabilizes bullets from 35-77 grains. Its upper receiver is forged from 7075-T6 aluminum and includes a forward assist, dust cover, and brass deflector. It is Type III hard coat anodized for maximum durability. It has a fixed M4-style black synthetic buttstock and Mil-Spec buffer tube. The front post sight is elevation adjustable and the A2 style"F" height allows co-witness with many optics. The rear sight is a Ruger Rapid Deploy folding sight. It provides adjustment for windage and pairs with the front sight for a solid reliable aiming system. The milled gas block is located at a carbine-length (M4) position for improved balance and handling. It comes with an ergonomic pistol grip that features an extended trigger reach for more precise control over the single stage trigger providing durable and reliable fire control and is protected by an oversized trigger guard which gives plenty of room for use with gloves. This rifle comes with one metal 10-round magazine.

I've never owned a new ar, so maybe i'm in wanderlust, but the fit of this weapon is outstanding ! Thank you Ruger for making an affordable, sure to be, a reliable starting rifle. Thank you Bud's and Team Bud's, for a pain free experience ! Looking forward to more order's in the future.

Just picked up my Ruger ar 556 I got the New Jersey version since I live in this communist state first thing the quality this rifle feel for a entry ar it is bang for your buck I looked at different brands and Ruger ar 556 offered the best the barrel 1/8 twist is great and the delta ring is screw design is great I am happy with my purchase

Just picked it up from my FFL today. Super good build quality. I ordered when the normal AR556 was out of stock. I will tell you a few things about this particular model. It comes with a 10 round mag and no flash hider. Which means the barrel is not threaded for one. Not a huge deal i just wish i would have realized or that there was a better description. But the part i was relieved about, THERE IS NO BULLET BUTTON! Will report back after i get some rounds down. But first impression is this is a $1000 AR build quality with a fraction price tag.
