  Hi Allen, yes sir, if a rifle is rated for 5.56, you can shoot both .223 and 5.56.
  If it is rated for .223, then you can only shoot .223.
  The Ruger AR-556 can shoot both.

  Kurt, this has a fixed stock, not a fixed magazine. I'm reading on MA gun forums that it is not MA legal. Appears to be MA legal, but it could be considered a copycat of an assault weapon, therefore banned. • Q: Can this take larger cap mags?

  Aaron, yes Sir it will. Most manufacturers including Ruger make firearm packages that have 10rd magazines so their rifles/pistols can also be sold in state that have magazine capacity restrictions. The rifles/pistols are exactly the same but just have 10rd mags included. They will also accept any standard capacity magazines just fine.
