Great for a CCW with the 1911 look.

Shoots like a charm but only 8 rds in, we all know the huge scarcity and for 380acp it does seem much worse and I lack any target bullets for it now

If your a fan of all things John moses browning then you are going to LOVE this diminutive 1911 in 380 acp. It is slightly larger than say a sig p238 which i like as well, but it is easier to get a good grip on this one. I have only been able to run 3 mags thru this thing so as to conserve the all elusive 380 cartridge 1 mag of hardball no failures straight out of the box without cleaning or oiling next was some handloads mixed brass no failures, and 1 mag of hollow points, again, no failures at all. It is 100 % a 1911 for all intents and purposes

I researched the Baby Rock extensively before purchasing, reading many articles and viewing many videos. Seven out of seven reported the trigger pull as being from 4.5 to 5.5 lb and with very positive comments on the trigger.

When I received the Baby Rock, this obviously wasn't the case. From feel the trigger was a minimum of twice and probably three times normal for a single action, and obviously over 10 lb, without at that point using a trigger gauge,

I filed a warranty claim with Armscor and their reply was "My apologies but this is not a warranty issue. The trigger pull on the BBR 380 is made to be 7-9lbs. for safety."

I just told them it was more than this, and the reply was it's not a warranty issue. No request for me to obtain a measurement first, which would be a reasonable thing to ask as I'm sure they have some customers who don't know what they're talking about, but no. Just flat dismissal.

I did on further correspondence get them to agree to warranty return. Btw the actual trigger pull was THIRTEEN AND A QUARTER POUNDS.

Despite the fact that they chose to send out review guns that all had 5 lb triggers, give or take a small amount, and themselves still link to those reviews to this day, they refused to set my trigger to that range, instead claiming:

"The factory spec has been set to 7 to 9 lbs. mainly because the gun is small enough to carry in a pocket. Grabbing at a firearm in ones pocket with a light trigger could lead to a discharge in the wrong direction."

No, proper gun handling including proper holster use is the entirety of what provides safety, not wrecking the trigger pull which will do virtually nothing towards making unsafe gun handling safe.

Further, other than their ultimately accepting the firearm back for service, 4-6 weeks to have it returned at up to 9 lb trigger pull (sheesh), I found their manner of responses consistently very dismissive. Enough so to bother me quite a bit.

Another issue with this gun, which I learned only after purchase, is that despite being a current production gun from reportedly the biggest 1911 manufacturer in the world, parts availability is very spotty. Many simply are not offered anywhere.

Lastly, during the stretch where they were still refusing warranty service, they refused to answer questions on parts (whether there were changes in part number between previous and now, and where some parts could be obtained as they were not shown as available anywhere.

The gun looks great and feels great in the hand. But you won't be getting what you see in any review. Armscor is pulling the bait and switch. Maybe it will be a nice gun after getting back in 4-6 weeks with whatever defect causing the 13 lb trigger pull repaired, and then spending money to get it down to the about 5 lb that their actions led me to believe I'd be getting in the first place. Or maybe it will still be not so good. Obviously their QC isn't much, to miss a 13 lb trigger. Where else did it fall down?

Fine experience with Buds, in no way was this their fault, everything went right on their end.

This was my first 380acp. I also have 10mm Rock ultra that I really enjoy shooting. Gun performed well first 50 Ed’s and only had one failure to chamber. Probably a cleaning and break in issue. Sweet little 1911. Looking forward to next range session. Ammo is tough to locate right now!👍

I love 1911s this was a cool peice to add to the Arsenal. I had a few failure to feed issues in the begining. I was disappointed with Armscorps and their non answer and no help. I took to a gumith and they fixed the issue.

I've been very pleased with the Baby Rock from Rock Island. I bought the pistol, mainly because I was extremely overstocked on .380 ACP ammunition, and the only gun I owned chambered for the round was a Ruger LCP. Don't get me wrong, the LCP is an excellent pistol for it's intended purpose -- concealment. The problem is, that the Ruger is highly unpleasant to shoot. The diminutive size and light weight make for a knuckle-busting trip to the range if shooting a moderate to high volume of target (much less defensive) ammo.

Comparatively, the Baby Rock is a joy to shoot. It's approximately 75-85% the size of a stock 1911. It also has a good, though not overbearing, heft. Thus far, I haven't experienced any FTF or FTE issues. It's tough to get the last couple of rounds into the magazine, but I'm hoping that will ease up some with use.

Accuracy - especially of "follow-up" shots - is much better than with the LCP or the Kel-Tec P3AT, which I owned before buying the Ruger.

This is my second Rock Island 1911, with the first being an FS-Tac model in .45 ACP. I had to send the .45 back to RIA for some warranty work, but the work was done quickly and properly. They emailed me a pre-paid shipping label, and it took about 4 weeks total to receive the pistol back.

I would highly recommend Rock Island Armory in general, and the Baby Rock specifically as a fine option for anyone wanting a .380 pistol that is NOT one of the super-lightweight polymer pocket cannons.

The Baby Rock is a great shooting gun. Very accurate. It does have a combat POA. The only con is the stiff slide to manipulate. It takes strong hands to rack it. I also painted the front sight orange.

Buds sent exactly what I ordered, unfortunately the Rock Island Baby Rock that I received has too many issues to be listed, here are a few..... the trigger pull is so heavy the weapon is not safe to handle, when you can get it to fire it hits 12 inches high at 7 yards.

It will not chamber any hollow point I had on hand( three different mfg, all with different profiles), they could be loaded one at a time by hand, but very few would extract when fired.

it will not fire a full magazine of ball rounds, had FTF, FTE, double feeds and failure to go into battery.........

I never trash a company for a lemon product------- stuff happens------- BUT

this is my first and last Rock Island, the fit and finish are as bad as the function
