Have you ever wanted a double stacked, 9mm, STI 2011? But, then you were like, "I can't spend $2000 on a range toy!" Well this Rock Island is the deal for you!!
I've owned mine for a couple years now and it has run flawlessly through 3000rds of 9mm! (Wish I could say the same about my Kimber)
Straight out of the box you'll see that the parkerized finish is not exactly beautiful. But that's where the negatives end. Rack the slide, it feels smooth like it's on ball bearings. Snick that safety up and down a few times, it wears in perfect. Mags drop free, lock up tight, and that magwell makes you look like Max Michel on the reloads. The sights work well (I won't change 'em) The G10 grips are good. But I did put some grip tape on the front strap.
4lbs fully loaded! This is not a carry gun. But that weight soaks up the recoil so well that your split times will make you wish you could carry this anchor. And the trigger... what can I say about the trigger... Even a mediocre 1911 trigger is way better than double action or striker triggers.
All in all, is it a do-it-all gun? No
But if you want the all the fun of a 2011 for 1/3 the $$$ and you don't care about the finish... THIS IS THE GUN FOR YOU!!

The gun was in perfect condition, trigger was really nice, recoil was barely there, and it was very accurate at the range! Buds shipped it really fast too!!! I will be back for more!!!

Shoots 9mm fine but can't get through a mag of 22 TCM without an issue. Love the way it shoots. Getting the right new mags can be an issue. Actually sent an email to Rock Island support to make sue I got the right mag and had to bend the baseplate to clear the magwell on a $50 mag. Have shot about 3 boxes of 22TCM through it and still have 1 or 2 issues a mag. Not sure if I should be using the -R version. Love the ability to shoot 2 calibers. The 22 TCM really makes a fireball.

Buds processed the order and shipped within the time frame they gave me, I have no complaints at all regarding Buds. However I am not very happy with Armscor. The gun shipped with the wrong magazine and it took me 10 emails to get that fixed. The first thing they did was blame Buds and close the case so I will certainly think twice before purchasing another Armscor product. Otherwise the gun works great no jams or other failures to speak of.

Love the gun! It's been 100% reliable so far. Shoots great too. What i don't like is that it only came with 1 magazine. YouTube unboxing videos as new as Nov 2017 show the gun coming with 2 magazines. Buds is out of the mags as well as many other places. The RIA/API website has an option to buy now on the mag, but it takes you to another website and guess what. .....they're out of the mags as well. Anyone know where I can get mags. This would be a great competition gun, but can't do it with only one magazine.

I really want to like this gun. It feels solid and shoot straight but Not 100% reliable out of the box. I have put 150 22TCM today. I'm having serious trouble with early feeding problems. Jams very often and premature slide lock, or not locking open on last round. WHYYYY!!!...

I received this from Buds very quickly and took to the range. I had problems with it failing to extract the casing every shot and I had to drive the casing out with a wood dial. I contacted Rock Island and they sent a return pickup on it that same day. I sent it in and they found a defect in the barrel and replaced. They sent it back and it fires every time perfectly. There customer service was excellent . While they had it they also custom cut a novak sight groove and installed an EGW red dot mount for me. This gun is a dream to shoot and . I would recommend it and you will love it!

I really like this gun and the weight, it is HEAVY. But I could not get the 22 tcm to extract so I had to send it back to Armscore causing me to miss multiple matches I was going to use this pistol in. Its a pain that I have to send my brand new pistol in for repair that is why a gave 3 stars, Im still a little sour about it. But I still recommend this pistol.

Out of the box the fit and finish was good even my FFL was impresses as he does custom 1911's, that made me feel good. During the initial cleaning I noticed the one and only issue with the pistol. The fiber optic is dirty to the point it won't clean up and gather light. Armscor was able to tell me it's 0.060 so less then $1 and it's fixed. Grips are a little slick but feel good once I shot it is liked them. Action is very smooth without alot of slop. Trigger was great at 4.5 pounds with a little take up and zero over travel. 150 rounds during the first range trip without 1 malfunction. Point of aim and impact where right on. Rapid fire was controllable and consistent. Headshot where a breeze and only 3 rounds outside of the A zone on a uspsa target. The magazine that came with it has a pad designed for their magwell. I ordered Arrandono extended bases and with minor fitting I have 21 round magazines. Great pistol and no fear putting this against the STI's of my friends.

1911 A2 rock Island got the gun home and took the slide off and to my surprise the feed ramps are off center ok so I called the tech no one answer's the phone in the middle of the day ok so next I try the chat line well this highly skilled individual told if the gun functions it ok this a 700.00 gun. I asked about magazines and when they will be stock they have no idea great so then I ask about grips any 1911 will interchange that is a lie I bought brand new stainless screws to put on fell in different thread. Now I am mad as hell I finely get hold of the head of sales and marketing they said they will take a look at it and sent me the stuff to send back to them and it will be 3 to 4 weeks before I get it back. So the moral of this story is you buy junk you get junk. I'll save my money and buy a STI. Anybody want to buy a rock..
