  Hi John, +P ammo is a type of ammunition that generates higher chamber pressure than standard cartridges, resulting in increased bullet velocity. If used all the time, +P ammo will result in more wear to your gun than normal. Most gun manufacturer's recommend using +P ammo sparingly.
  Then there is +P+, which generates more pressure than +P. Do not use +P+ unless the manufacturer says it is ok.
  If you are using the gun for defensive purposes, regular ammo will stop the threat just as well as +P ammo.
