Mine is not drilled and tapped but is machined for dovetail optics. I would like to find an inexpensive red dot scope to fit this dovetail. Any suggestions?

Panoe, yes. This rifle is pre drilled and tapped for a scope mount so you can add the scope of your choice.

Ed, online vendors are all out of stock. I would check some of the large gun sites like (6)un Broker, (6)uns America and Armslist as hard to find firearms and accessories show up for sale by private individuals and small shops. Just replace (6) with G.

My wife is 5 ft 3 in. All 22s we have tried out the stock is to long for her. Marlin 60 and the 10/22 three stock is to long. She shoots a youth mossberg 500. Its hard to tell from the picture if this is the size of a cricket 22 or just a little bit smaller than a full size

Its just a little shorter than a full size. Any good gunsmith can shorten the stock on any of the guns you mentioned to make them fit

I love this rifle. It is such a great deal... or rather was... Has a 4 out of 10 trigger, Wood stock is great but slightly unrefined in shape, action quality is great, threaded muzzle is a nice option, and the magazine's fit way too tight. However, the price was so good I would buy five more of these if they were available today.

Very happy with this little 22. I. An average build guy and I find this easy to shoot even though it's a youth model. My 7 year hold girl hit dead on target her first time ever shooting a gun with this rifle. Wood stock is nice (I hate synthetic) but it's not anything special ( I don't think it's walnut just generic "hardwood"). I don't own a silencer but the threads are a nice feature if I ever get one in the future. Overall a decent gun at a great price. Would buy again and recommend to anyone in the market for a cheap bolt 22.

I love my Rock Island Armory M14. It is a very well made rifle. I highly recommend it. If it's selling for that price now then mine is for sale. I have only put 100 bullets through it, has been kept in case in pristine condition.

When I opened the box, I was pleasantly surprised to see a nice looking rifle. For this awesome price I didn't know what to expect, but I'm happy with this gun. I haven't shot it yet because it is a gift for my granddaughters birthday next month. It's a solid, well made rifle with nice wood and nice matte bluing. Good sights, but it will be scoped.

I like the M14Y a lot. For the price, it fires a tight shot group and it is a gorgeous weapon with that wooden stock. I was initially befuddled about loading the magazine though. It will only fit bullets starting in the middle, when you press down. I shot about 100 rounds with no issues last weekend.
