  Hi John and welcome. No Sir. Ruger made changes to the Mark IV pistol which included the elimination of the loaded-chamber indicator and key lock features, which were unpopular on the Mark III series. While the magazine disconnect safety has been retained, it has been redesigned, and the magazine is ejected sharply when the mag release button is pressed. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

• Q: I have a Ruger Mark III 22/45 Target model. Does anyone know if the Ruger Mark III 22/45 magazine will work in this Ruger Mark IV 22/45 pistol as well?

  Hi Anh, Ruger does not recommended to use Mark IV magazines in a Mark III gun and vice versa.
  The main difference in the Mark III and Mark IV magazines is the base plate. There is 1/4 inch behind the back of the magazines in the Mark III. The Mark IV magazines are flush.
  All you have to do is grind off that 1/4 inch and the mags will work in both guns.

  No this one is Not currently on the roster, and come July the roster is going to start shrinking quite a bit with the 'micro stamp' requirements going into effect. There are currently 9 models of ruger 22lr pistols on the roster listed here

  Hi, the Ruger mark IV just requires you to remove a screw. Some of the older models used a flat head screw, the newer models use a hex screw you need 5/64 Allen wrench to remove it. The screw is located right behind the front site post. It may be a little difficult to remove cause most manufacturer use thread locker for these types of screws. I\'d recommend heating it up with a blow dryer, or just shoot a couple magazine threw the pistol and then try to remove the screw. Or you can try a penetrating lube Like pb blaster that should help loosen the screw. If for some reason the screws just to stuck to get I'd take it to a gun Smith before accidentally stripping the screw but you should be fine. Hope this helps.
