Just got back from the range. This gun jams more than any Glock I own (.45, .40, 9mm). Jammed at least 8 times in one hour (50 rounds) with factory Glock mags. We had 1 bay with 3 people, so I had time to test it just ejecting rounds, still jammed. Magtech .380 Auto FMJ. Conceal carry would be suspect knowing how much this gun jams. I am sorry I purchased it. Should have listened to my instincts and went with Glock 43X MOS. I purchased the lifetime warranty, thankfully. I’m going back to the range right after Christmas to run Hornady Defense rounds thru and see if it’s the gun or the ammo.

Accurate and controllable kick. I Had a couple feed issues, but I was using Winchester 380 acp range ammo with a flat nose. Also, The trigger is smoother with less pull as I put in the Ghost trigger connector.

Great gun for CCW. Fits in my suit jacket pocket, pants pocket, and works great in my Urban Carry IWB holster. I went from a Ruger LCP to the Glock as the LCP handle is way to small to hold on to when firing without an extended magazine, and I could not be more happy with my decision. Also, the night sights make target acquisition much better than the LCP. Last, it is a Glock, so I should not have to worry about reliability..... Only negative comment is that it didn't ship for 8 days (they said it shipped in 7, but it appears the label was generated in 7 to make it appear as if the deadline was met, but it was not in the hands of the carrier for 8 days), and the customer service person I called and spoke with after 5 days to inquire if she had any information as to whether it was on backorder or not, was perhaps the rudest customer service rep I have ever spoken to.

The trigger on The G42 is the hardest Glock trigger I have encountered. I own 5 other Glocks; G17, G19, G26, G34 and G42. The triggers on double stack Glocks are noticeably better. The sights are accurate with the 90gr and 95gr ammo I tested. I had no issues with Hornady Critical Defense and Ficcochi JHP ammunition. Initially I had occasional problems with other ammo until I let the mags sit fully loaded for 2 weeks. These failures were a combination of the weaker ammo and tight mag springs. I would load the gun to 6 1. The first round would always fire then I might have a failure to feed on round #2 or a stove pipe or a failure to pick up round #2. After the magazine springs wore in these issues went away. FYI, I have run 300 rounds on this gun.

Not a huge Glock fan as they are ugly as sin. That being said I really like this gun. It's just the right amount of compact. Easy to conceal and cycles well. Hate to be one of the "feels good in the hand guys", but it really does feel good in the hand, as long as you get a 2 extension for the mags(rockyourglock.com). Without that, your pinky finger is going to hang off, because the mag well is short. The night sights are actually not great for the price, they are basically $63, however they are installed if you don't know how to do that or are lazy. If you have an Amazon account you can find brighter Truglow night sights for the 42 for around $40(I paid $38). I bought my wife the same handgun but without the night sights and bought the Trueglow sights from Amazon and slapped those on. It was a better deal and I was able to put them on straighter and more centered than at the Glock Factory. Mine on this gun I am reviewing are a little off. If you want to put the sights on yourself, the front sight tool is on amazon for $5. The rear sight tool is too expensive ($40-$50) I just used a hammer and a hole punch set. I held a folded up piece of paper between the punch and the rear sight so I didn't scratch the sight. Hope this helps.
