Jason, If you have all your NYC permits in order no problem getting the SA M1A shipped to your local FFL for transfer to you.

James looks to me like that is NY state Not NY city I Know buds will not ship to the zip codes in the city

I recommend you use the FFL locator https://www.budsgunshop.com/ffl.php select a NYC FFL and ask him as the only thing I could find on line was that you would require a permit to be allowed to own a rifle or shotgun

neither the out side or the inside are treaded. some rifles are threaded (outside) for flash hiders and suppressors. Some shotguns are threaded (inside) for choke tubes

The picture tells me it doesn't. I see that sweet little mag release, but I'm sure not all the pictures tell the full story. I don't live in NY, I'm looking at this one specifically for the front sight post location, because I'm a psycho about esthetics, and I hate threaded barrels for some reason.

Torin, No threaded barrel on this firearm. The standard 10 round M1A detachable magazine ships with this SA M1A.

Torin, the magazine is a 10rd detachable mag and the rifle has NM Iron Sights: 0.062" blade front and non-hooded rear aperture - Barrel is State regulated without threads and proprietary slotted non threaded muzzle brake.

How is the recoil on this weapon with no Break? Can I shoot 200 or 300 rounds and still use my shoulder?

The M1a, recoil-wise, is a pussycat compared to just about any other higher-powered rifle. This is partly due to weight and stock configuration and the gas system. While it ain't an AR15, and will indeed kick a little bit harder than one... it is far from being a bruiser. This gun is heavy, so that helps. Add a limbsaver too. Shoot lower grain loads for more help. After that, its a little more then an AR-15 in the recoil comparison. You can pop 200 rounds and still function.

The action and weight of this rifle makes this recoil manageable. The regular muzzle break makes it jump slightly less for faster follow up shots.

I recently purchased a Springfield M1A "NY"version because we are not allowed to have a threaded barrel on our semi-auto hunting or precision target rifles in Illinois even though recoil compensaters require threads. That said the rifle is very well built, heavy as hell because of all steel construction, and very nice fully adjustable national match sight. I expect very respectable performance for long range precision target shooting with iron sights.

This is my second order with Bud's.It is so easy to purchase from them. Upon getting permission from my local FFL, who is on Bud's dealer list, I was able to get the cash discount price because Bud's allows buyers to pay by check online using my bank's routing number. Slower than credit card, but I'm willing to wait a few extra days for a decent discount, better than what my credit card company would give me for cash-back for this transaction......money back in my pocket that I wouldn't have otherwise, but still quicker than mailing a check. My Springfield Armory M1A model# MA9222NT with wooden stock (since my order in the last couple of weeks, they have a synthetic stock version at Bud's now, too) arrived in the expected new pristine condition. The walnut stock was nicely coated in what I think is linseed oil (smells just like my old M1 Garand's stock-love that fragrance). It came in a nice Springfield Armory Tactical soft carry case similar to Blackhawk's I've seen before. I haven't had a chance to fire this new rifle, but if it's like my previous experience with a Springfield Armory M1A I tried years ago, it'll live up to the M14's legacy nicely. I have some other toys on my wishlist I plan to order later this year. I'm sure Bud's will make it just as easy and money-saving as they have done for me before.
