Texas Jack (Mike) Harvey took grip frames and dimensions from three classic Colt revolvers, the 1878 DA, the 1877 Colt Thunderer DA and the 1st generation 1873 SAA features from these three grips were combined into the grip frame of the new Thunderer. One piece walnut grip. Forged Old Model color case hardened frame. Blued finish.

Literally a childhood dream come true. It is so well built it looks and feels fantastic. .357 Caliber makes it easy to find ammo and is great for shooting.

Good shooting gun. It has no kick at all with 38 special. Didn’t waste 357 but shoots great with no kick.

I have bought probably 10 guns, some of them rifles and most a variety of pistols, from Bud's. All of the guns (with one exception) were shipped very expeditiously and arrived in mint condition. Any questions I may have had in the purchase process were handled satisfactorily via telephone with minimal holding time. I have recommended Bud's to several other gun buyers. This particular purchase was shipped to my FFL dealer within five days.

This is a well made and fun little gun. I actually shoot it better than I thought I would. Very nice trigger and comfortable grip.

This gun is really a great shooter. I am a little disappointed in the fit and finish though. The bluing seems a little things in some spots, and there is a metal bur in the ejector rod tube that I will need to file down.

Beautiful gun in every way. Fit and finish are great and the heft and balance are as well. But aside from looking great, it is a wonderful shooter right out of the box. Balances great in your hand. Easy to shoot and control duelist-style as well as 2-hand grip. Makes .38SPL feel akin to a .22, even with +P rounds. .357 Magnum rounds obviously have a bit more "oomph", but are smooth and easy to control. The grip fits comfortably in the hand and feels like you could shoot all day. Just an all-around great single-action revolver. And great service from Bud's once again.

The Cimarron Model CA340 Thunderer in .357 Magnum is exactly as described. This revolver has a perfect finish and the action is smooth as silk. I highly recommend this revolver in the .357 mag caliber or any other caliber offered. Since this is an Old Model (Black Powder) type frame, it has the screw to hold the Base Pin in place. I would prefer the original type screw that did not have the knurling on the screw. I know the one provided is very convienient, it just does not "look good". This is a petty complaint as I can modify the one provided to look like the original Colt. I still like the revolver!!!!
