No, I wouldn't recommend these for a rifled barrel. These are rifled slugs and rifled slugs are meant to be shot out of a smooth bore barrel. You want sabot slugs Wich are smooth and will conform to the rifling in your Barrel. Shooting rifled slugs threw a rifled barrel can actually damage your barrels rifling. Hope this helps.

Brian, no this is a rifled slug meant to be shot from a smoothbore barrel. You want sabot type slugs, which Bud's has none in stock in 20 gauge.

Brian, this is a Rifled Slug and is not optimal for accuracy in a fully rifled slug barrel. no you could safely use then but your accuracy may not be very good rifled barrels are designed to be used with sabot slugs. sabot slugs are smaller slugs encased in a plastic Sabot which falls away after it exits the barrel

Yea, definitely know website designers like using incorrect photos. No, like you said couple rounds won't hurt anything because it's lead vs steel rifled or not, just wouldn't recommend prolonged use.

I saw it was listed as a star slug, but the company listed many of their products as "Rio star line" this includes buckshot and target loads, so id say that isn't a definitive indicator that it is rifled, because as far as I know there is no such thing as "rifled buckshot" And as for the picture on the box pictures used by online retailers are often stock pictures that are thrown into the product page by lazy web developers who don't feel like finding accurate pictures, but regardless, I don't care enough to look any further into it. Id say to Brian but 1 box, shooting 5 rounds through a rifled barrel will not destroy your rifling that quickly l, your talking about a soft metal (lead) against a hard metal (Steel) you'd not want to use rifled slugs over a prolonged period but a single box wouldn't hurt anything, if they are rifled, don't buy anymore, if they're smooth then stock up

And 6th site down says rifled slug in the title ammobee.com also has a good picture of the actual top of the slug and says rifled slug good reputation for smooth bore slug guns

Paul, Google the upc and go down to the third website. Kitterytradingpost.com it shows a picture of the slug on the box and can see it's rifled. It's also called the star slug because the rifling looks like a star.

Josh Where did you get that these are rifled slugs? I looked on at least 7 different websites including Rio's and none of them had these listed as "Foster' or "rifled" slugs. So because no one lists them as such I assume they are Sabbat (non rifled slugs) which if thats the case these are ideal for a rifled barrel.
