William, Not C&R eligible. These are right on the cusp. Most of these were made in the 70s. Any firearm that is at least 50 years old, and in its original configuration, would qualify as a C&R firearm.

There is another distributor that has these guns in very good for 229 and good for 199. The way I understand it the Importer grades each weapon there's a paper tag on the trigger guard Maybe I'm Wrong I Don't Know But what grade are these weapons?

I asked the chat now this question and got no definitive answer, only I should and ask. How can I ask when am ordering electronically? Can I trade a new or used gun towards an item I already have in layaway, or does the trade goes for new purchases only? Has anyone done that?

The Star Model BM is a single-action semi-automatic pistol that fires the 9 mm Para pistol cartridge. It was produced by Star Bonifacio Echeverria, S.A. in Spain. Although its external appearance resembles the classic M1911, its design is different in several respects. For example, the Star does not have the 1911's grip safety. In addition, the thumb safety on the Star disengages the sear, whereas it blocks the motion of the sear on a 1911. The pistol is fed by an 8-round detachable box magazine.

After reading several reviews on the Star BM9 I decided to take a chance and see what happens . Ordered it direct from customer service , was informed about a life time warranty available for not much extra . Came in handy . Shipping was fast enough and I was rather suprised with the condition . Quite acceptable to me , didn`t pay extra for " hand select " . There was a minor problem with the functioning of casing extraction , sent it back under the warranty and they replaced the extractor with a new one . Took about four weeks but what the heck .Has one other problem with the safety operation that I reported but that wasn`t addressed . I can live with that, It`s a used service pistol so I gotta expect a bug or two . It operates just fine after the extraction fix and I enjoy shooting it which is what I bought it for in the first place . I like older all metal handguns and this one was a good deal .
