I really like this series of Lipsey’s GP100’s and I also have the 357 model. I really like this one as well; however, I do have 2 small deficiencies to point out. The model specific grips that came on this particular gun (327 Fed Mag) fit loosely on the grip tang. When screwed tight, they still rattled and allowed the gun to shift front to back and side to side. I discovered that the interior recesses for the grip tang on both grip panels were milled too large. I fixed the problem by applying small amounts of painter’s tape to the grip tang in order to shim the grips tighter. Also, I fired less than 100 rounds of full power 327 and noted that the tiny pin that holds the front end of the rear sight assembly into its recess in the top strap had started to walk out to the left. I simply pushed it back in with my thumbnail. If this really starts to bother me, I will try locktite on it. Overall, I am satisfied. Ruger is sending me new grips too!

Typical Ruger quality. Very nice revolver especially with the different wood grips and the blued finish. Buds was great as always.

Typical product quality you come to expect from Ruger. Fit and finish is very good. Bluing is flawless, all the lockwork is very tight and spot on. Barrel cylinder gap is tight and forcing cone diameter is quite narrow making the most from this powerful cartridge. American Eagle 100 gr soft points clock on average between 1600 fps and 1640 fps. Accuracy with the AE load hovers around 2.5-3 inches at 25 yards with me shooting freehand. My reloads with the 100 gr xtp hover around 1.5-2 inches at said range so it's definitely accurate. Recoil in this stout revolver is very mild. It's definitely lighter and easier to carry than a standard gp100. It reminds me a lot of the old security six or a service sized smith. Gold bead front sight while not as bright as modern fiber optics, jumps out pretty well in low light and is a nice retro throwback. My only complaint is I wish there was some checkering on the grips. Durring rapid fire double action shooting, the smooth grips tend to ride up in your hand and make it a little harder and slower to get back on target but that's an easy remedy. Overall, it's great and a fine wheelgun that anyone would be proud to own.
