Great gun! I had been hesitant to get one of the new 7-shot GP100s after reading reviews of spent cases getting stuck. I waited about a year to see if there was a fix to the problem and finally decided to take the risk. I initially bought the stainless steel version and thankfully, after testing with multiple boxes of both .38 special and .357 from every major ammo manufacturer (I specifically sought out brands that were reported to stick as well), I can happily say that the revolver has performed perfectly and encountered no issues with cases sticking. I also recently purchased the blued 7-shot GP100 and ran it through the same test as the stainless model, and again, no issues were found!
Highly recommend these to revolver enthusiasts who want an extra round over the standard six shooter without going to the bulkier and heavier 8 shot, large frame revolvers.

I love shooting this gun outdoors with full load .357 mag ammo. 350 rds + or - so far with no problems. Four different ammo manufacturers.

This particular sample didn't make it 50 rounds without frustrating me to the point of calling it a day. Cant make it through a full cylinder without the action completely locking up and seizing mid-trigger pull. Back to ruger you go, I'll draw a final opinion when I can actually shoot the thing.

Do not buy! You'll be returning it. Spent cartridges will not eject. Ruger will send you a GP100 6-shooter.

A true beast of a handgun. Feels and is solid. Eats 357.Magnum and due to the heft of the gun you experience a solid shove rather than a nasty flip of the muzzle. Wish I could afford a second one.

You can not beat Ruger revolvers. They are sturdy, well built, AMERICAN MADE, over engineered bullet eating machines. The GP100 is considered by many to be one of the top current production 357 Mag revolvers. I have to agree. This is my second GP100. I've shot other brands of revolvers and there are plenty of good ones out there. But for overall bang for your buck no other Made in the USA revolver beats Ruger. This particular GP100 is slightly different from the stock factory model. It adds cushioned rubber grips with nice hardwood inserts (the left side has a small cut out for your thumb), and a green fiber optic front sight. Don't like green? No problem. The fiber optic rod is easy to replace. Prefer a more traditional front sight? No worries, Ruger built a clever spring loaded device to hold the front sight to the barrel. A small tool is all it takes to unlock the sight and remove it. Like all GP100's the rear sight is adjustable for elevation and windage using a small screwdriver. At a recent range trip my GP100 threw 100 rounds of mixed ammo downrange with no issues. Most of these were 357 mag loads (including a few Buffalo Bore) which the revolver handles quiet well due to it's heft. Load up some 38 specials and you'll notice a considerable drop in noise and recoil, making them a great alternative for those who prefer a little less BOOM. Stop looking at that foreign made revolver. Spend the extra money and get a quality, rugged, American made Ruger that you'll be proud to own.

A:Chuck, yes Sir. Any 357Magnum Revolver can fire the less powerful 38 Special and 38 Special +P without issue. Your wrist will thank you. Cheers!See 2 more answers | -

A:No Jesus, the Talo Exclusive Model 1772 is the standard "Blued" model and the Talo Exclusive 1776 is the "High Gloss" model. -- https://ruger.com/products/gp100/models.htmlSee 2 more answers |
